Halloween Themed Paper Bag Album/ Mini Book~HYR

Greetings HYR fiends :)

Have you ever made a paper bag album? Are an experienced paper bag album maker? Wanna put a Halloween twist on it?Then this swap is for you!

What is a paper bag album you ask?
Basically 3 - 4 lunch sized paper bags, folded in half. Usually eiither sewn down the middle or brads/eyelets are used to make the binding to hold your album in it's book shape. Use scrapbook paper to cover and make the pages and use the paper bag folds and openings to make special areas for tags, pullouts, journals.....etc. You can also buy these on Ebay pre-made (sewn binding, hole punched and sprayed with an archival mist) if you'd like. I have a link for a reliable seller on Ebay that I purchase mine from I can pm to you if you'd like it :)

You can make this a chunky style album with tags, ephemera, journaling pages, pullouts.....use binder rings, embellishment, fibers....sky's the limit!

Check out Etsy.com, Flickr. and Ebay for ideas on how you'd like your album to look if you haven't made them before. Type Paper Bag Albums into the site search engines. Here are a couple of good tut links that helps explains the process : tut1 and tut2youtube The Youtube tut uses a different way to put the bags together than I have used, but there are different methods so feel free to use what you feel comfortable with :)

The specifics for the swap: Your paperbag album should be 6 x 6. All the pages should be covered by paper so that the paper bag itself isn't showing. Use embellishments, fibers, emphemera, tags...distress it, stamp it, paint it... to make your album special. Although exceedingly fun, this is somewhat labor intensive so please join only if you plan to do your best work. I'm allotting extra time for the duration of this swap to create your album and also so that you can order/acquire your supplies if needed. These should be "finished" books. Your partner should only need to add their own photos/journaling to complete it. Most important.....have fun and enjoy creating :)
