Once Upon a (Mini) Zine

For this swap, you will write a mini-zine with the theme of folk & fairy tales. Some ideas:

• Illustrate an existing fairy tale
• Write your own fairy tale/s
• Write revised versions of existing fairy tales (eg get inside one of the characters heads & tell the story from their perspective)
• Review existing adaptations of fairy tales
• Talk about how a particular fairy tale has affected you, or your responses to a collection of stories
• Make up profiles for your favourite characters
• Imagine what would happen if you could climb into an existing story

The above are all just suggestions – your zine can include any, all or none of these, so long as it fits within the fairy tale theme! Please make sure your zine includes a mix of both text and images – it doesn't have to be an even mix, just not entirely pictures, or just text.

This does not have to be a 'traditional' mini-zine (e.g. 8 mini pages folded down from 1 A4/letter-size page) but it can be, if you like. It should have at least 8 mini pages, but can be slightly bigger (up to A6/quarter-size), or smaller but with more pages, and you can use whatever kind of binding you prefer. You will have 3 partners, so you will send 1 copy of your zine to each of your partners, and receive 3 different zines in return.

Ratings of 5 or just below only, and at least 5 postal swaps. I will check through participants & remove people I think are a potential risk, so please PM me to explain any unjustified comments or ratings, and I will take that into account. I just don't want to see anyone disappointed in return for their hard work. The sign up period is nearly 4 weeks, and the sending period is 3 weeks, to give you plenty of time to work on your ideas, so have fun!
