i absolutely love this swap - but - the only thing that is holding me back from signing up, is, the book from the partners likes.. because i don't know if i have or can get what they like.. drat!! :-)

Maybe a gift card to a book store?

NieceDenise I hear yah, lol! it's actually 110 degrees here.

I dont drink tea so can i have coffee please :)

Lots of people don't list books they want.would it be acceptable to post here a few titles or genres or perhaps a preference for a good magazine instead of the book choice? Mags are much more plentiful, diverse, cheaper and I'd certainly enjoy that over a book if my partner didn't have a book to send. Most of us have mags and can find as well as afford good ones easier than tracking down a desirable used book. Ill send either, just thought I'd throw the idea out there :)

I love the idea, but whomever has me as a partner, please leave out the chocolate...perhaps a bag of hot chocolate? or anything else. I have a very filled out profile. I just know we have 100 degrees plus here so there is no way chocolate could survive. Thanks!!

ooh crap! sorry about that double post! i was on my blackberry @ the hospital (can't get enough of this place!) and it didn't show up for me when i clicked say it the first time. oops!

on a side note, i found some really yummie and fun rainy day items already, shooting for hearts early on this one :D i hope my partner will divulge preference of magazines as well as books, candy, tea & coffee flavors so i send the best surprise assortment possible.

true that...no summer chocolates here...though, unless my partner objects...I will send out hot cocoa instead.

Hmm...ok, for my partner...any movie is good...and I prefer fantasy, sci-fi, horror, and humor.....but ANY will do, as I always have friends into other genras (bf's mother likes romance....bf's brother loves history, etc.)

-Kye

Oh yeah! Are burned DVD's ok? (I have hundreds of burnt DVD's to choose from...but not as much variety in actual DVD's...though I can always go out and buy one :)

Hi. I really love this swap! I'm from Chile. We are living the first day of the winter. I'm chilling to death! I don't know if it internatioal swap. Anyway I'm going to join in it. A little note for my partner: I'd like to get a film with Spanish subtitles. I'd like the cinema a lot. I'm so excited. I cannot wait to watch the filme and read the book that you will chose for me!

lilkye 07/ 1/2007 #

erm...the genra's posted earlier were for books...not movies....no preferences for movie genras :^)

Hi all yes movies are great. As far as books go send your partner an email and see what they would like or try to pick. Substuiting with mags are fine and also the chocolate. I know that it is very warm here also. Check the climate of your partner and go with your descrition. My partner is Jay so could you please either email me or let me know what books and movies interest you?

For me I love Janet Evanvioch she is the author of the Stephanie Plum novels, and authors like her. Nothing spy or autobiography etc. Movies I love chick flicks, horror, drama, and more just NO nudity of any sort. Any questions feel free to ask. I am not sure who has me. In place of chocolate maybe some hard candy or gum or something like that if your partner does not drink hot chocolate.

Angie A: I think that the sent date is so close! I have the movie, chocolate, tea and coffe ready but I must find a book in English yet! I'll send my package a bit late. Hope you unterstand my situation!

Babsmomof5 07/ 3/2007 #

Kye yours is going to the post office today!

DizMissLiz 07/ 4/2007 #

Mercury.Smith-your package is going out tomorrow!

mercuriousmith 07/ 4/2007 #

ooh, I can't wait! Thanks DizMissLiz! AnnieHall, your package will hopefully go out tomorrow. I'm just missing the chocolate at this point- and frankly I'm scared you'll get a melted blob. I hope not!

user8885 07/ 7/2007 #

Tori Lee, im sorry for the delay (i had a death/funeral this past week and fell behind in ALL of my swaps) but your parcel is ready to go out via airmail on Monday the 9th. hopefully your goodies won't melt in transit to Oz. Ah the perils of International swaps. Heh.

mercuriousmith 07/17/2007 #

This swap was a big hit with me. I loved trading all the goodies, but the movies especially. Thank yous to both of my partners!

user8885 07/19/2007 #

user8885 08/11/2007 #
