Description:

This swap is for anyone who wants to try a relatively easy doll swap to get your feet wet in the group. I am including clickable links with the body of this swap HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE

All these links lead directly to paper doll sites that you can print and use for free.

Here are the guidelines:

Use one of these links to print a paper doll you like. It can be male or female, child or adult. If it prints in color, fine, if it prints in black and white, you have to color it.

Cut out the doll, then glue it firmly to a thin cardboard like cereal box cardboard or heavy cardstock or tagboard, then when it is dry, cut it out again. It does not have to have a stand, but you can design and make one if you wish.

Either print out the clothes that go with your doll and EMBELLISH (add decorative details using paint, glitter, trims, etc) or create your own clothes to fit the doll. Make sure the clothing has some way of being able to be attached to the doll like tabs or velcro or magnets (I usually use ultra thin magnets). The clothes do not have to be printed or mounted on cardstock, although I generally make mine on paper heavier than printer paper, but that would be fine, too.

The last thing I do is sign my dolls on the back with my name and the name of the swap. This should be a fairly easy beginner doll swap that will allow you to create a fun doll and learn a little about mounting and embellishing the dolls. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to send me a message. The main thing is to HAVE FUN!

Is it ok if the clothes I make for the doll are permenent? Like, they stay on? That way I can glue and use glitter and stuff right on the body of the doll.

Why don't you work that out with your partner when the partners are assigned. With these preprinted dolls, many times they have clothes that are separate and can be glued and glittered themselves without affecting the doll. LURVE ya, babe!

Some dolls come with 2 changes of clothing others have 3 or 4. How many pieces of clothing should be made?

I think you could just get away with one. If you want to do more you could. It's your choice on that.

Hey, @jailbird You know you can do eeeeet! All the links have completed dolls and MATCHING outfits! Just glue to heavier backing, cut out, add some embellies to the clothes and maybe the doll. Bingo ! Instant doll. I bet you could do it WITHOUT yer meds!
