I Love My Sharpie!!

Ok - So maybe I'm just going on a bit of a rant here.. but what's the point?? I mean, don't get me wrong. Everyone here loves getting stuff in the mail.

But if you send 3 partners two black/blue or red sharpies (the three dominating colors) and you GET black/blue or red sharpies from 3 partners... you are back at square one.

I just usually think of swap-bot as a way of swapping things you may not be able to get in your area or trade handmade crafts..

well, stephanie, that is a chance you take. But then you may be pleasantly surprised and receive a yellow, turquoise and purple one.

Stephanie, I thought about that but like i said i did the other sharpie swap and I didn't get a black, blue or red sharpie. They were funky colors. so you may get lucky and get different colors. Maybe you could post some of the colors that you would like to recive. That worked fo my sister.

I have seen many people asking for colored sharpies on there Profile and in swaps due to that they can't get them in there area. It seems as if a lot of people here really love there sharpies and want mind what colors they get. Good luck to you all and have some fun!

Not to rang on the swap host, but I don't get it either.

If you can't get sharpies in your area (like me) then you can't participate in this specifically-sharpie-swap. If you can, and you want a specific colour, why would you not just go buy your own sharpie and not have to worry about postage, waiting for it to arrive, being flaked on, and all the rest of it?

Personally I decided almost immediately that I would not join any 'buying' swaps because for me this site is about art - making art, sharing my vision of the world, and appreciating others' art and vision - not about going shopping for someone else. (Of course, if I can send someone some fabulous papers and stickers from Asia that they really can't get in their area, that's a very different pot of kimchi - it still facilitates art-making and shared creativity...)

I hope the host and participants - both of them - do not take offense, but I genuinely do not understand this sort of swap.

I completely understand that is it awesome to get things in swaps. And I hope that all who do this swap really enjoy it - Masterbard said, if you want a specific color you could just go buy yourself, why swap?

I'm glad others enjoy this swap though. I wish you all well and that you get Sharpies that you don't have already.

I hate saying negative comments about swaps - because I know everyone means well when they make them - but I looked at this swap at a point in the day where my brain felt like I just had to ask why.

The reason that I am doing this swap is because there may be people that love shparies, like me but can't get certian ones OR colors.

Perhaps make a stipulation that you can send any color except black, blue, & red (the primary colors) but that turquoise, pink, gray are ok?

I just bought a 8 pack of colored sharpies. I think this is a good idea for a swap. Are these to be full size or are the mini's okay?

You can send the full size or mini ones. It is up to you. Also you can send what ever color that you want as long as they're not blue, black, or red.

No one told anyone they had to join this swap. If you don't like it, don't join and DON'T leave a comment. HOW RUDE of you to tell someone that you are not joining for certain reasons, just don't join.
