Part One

Draw a Picture ,Doodle something, Stamp an image or find a picture or copy a picture or use a pattern you have found somewhere. Anything you like – it could be an animal, A witch or vampire, a building, a character, A Tree an abstract pattern…. whatever you like.

Send it to your partner, who is going to make an amazing embroidery piece out of it.

Size wise, please bear in mind that the end product will be 6x4 inches (standard postcard size), so you’ll need to make your picture slightly smaller to allow for edge finishing. It can be portrait or landscape orientation.

The basic transfer method is to draw your picture with black pen on white paper, and snail-mail it to your partner who will transfer it to their fabric by tracing, transfer pencil or carbon paper or even stamping the image. However, I encourage you to communicate with your partner to see whether another method could be used. .

Please let me know if anything is unclear. Above all, have fun and let your creativity loose!

Thanks to sunnysidey for letting me host this swap.

You must have a rating of 4.8 or higher and have completed at least 10 non email swaps.

I'm watching for now. I haven't done any real embroidery in many many years and not sure I could do a very nice job.

lheureuxart 12/ 8/2009 #

I love this idea! Unfortunately, I won't have 10 swaps done by the signup deadline. I hope you do this again!

Gofeen 12/13/2009 #

Does it have to be an origional drawing or can we copy an image?

Nicc79 12/16/2009 #

Gofeen: you can copy an Image :) I have no problem with that at all.

Danielle00Thomas 12/31/2009 #

I would love to join this swap because I've never embroidered, but it requires 10 previous swaps. I guess I'll have to catch it next time around :(
