Description:

January is a long month, isn't it? Many of us are anxious for spring so I thought this would be a fun swap! You will be creating one butterfly for one partner. Butterflies should be made out of wire and beads--and beads should be glass beads of any type--seed beads, "e" beads, or larger beads. Please do not use plastic beads as the majority of beads in your creation--they may be used as accents, however. Also, please attach some type of hanger (or clip or pin back) to your creation so your partner can use it immediately. It is so pleasing to get something that can be used right away. There are no hard and fast size requirements, but if you choose to make a TINY butterfly, please send more than one. I consider anything underr 2 inches to be tiny.

So, requirements are:

One butterfly to (1) partner

Butterfly must be made primarily of any type of glass beads

Some type of "hanger" (ribbon, fishing line, etc.) or clip must be added to the butterfly so that it can be displayed by your partner

If you choose to make a butterfly measuring under 2 inches, please send 2--a matching set perhaps?

Also, check partner's profile for color dislikes and don't send a pink butterfly to someone clearly stating pink as a dislike. Here's a disclaimer, however: we are all artists, and, as such, need inspiration for our work to be its best. So...please be open to receiving something new from your partner, ok?

No restrictions on who may join, but, PLEASE, if you join, follow through on the swap. Your partner is counting on you and your responsibility enriches the swap-bot experience for everyone!

Would you consider posting your pattern for those of us who are capable, but not particularly good at the engineering part?

haha....well I WOULD except I do not have a pattern...I intend to just sort of "go" with it. My suggestion would be to string beads onto wire in a pleasing form and then create a butterfly shape. I plan to make one for ME first and then one for my assigned partner. I went to google and typed in 'beaded butterfly' and came up with several--some of which are WAY too daunting for me to make! I plan to find a nice picture and try to copy it. Wire is so forgiving and I am certain everyone's will be BEAUTIFUL.
