I was so pleased with the top 10 fitness tips swap that I joined that I decided to do a similar one of my own. :)

This one is based on the idea that a lot of people struggle to keep food off their minds--in other words, we constantly want to munch.

Each person will make a list of 10 FUN or INTERESTING things to do instead of eating. These must be things that you personally would find fun or intriguing enough to stay focussed on long enough to at least take the edge off a food craving.

For instance, "take out the trash" is probably not a good suggestion, but "organize your closet" is :)

With 10 partners, I am hoping that we will each get 100 things! :) (If enough people join.)

When you get your tips, I suggest formatting them in Word and printing them out so that you can put them in a decorative jar or box and draw one out whenever you feel the urge to munch but you know you don't really need a snack.

This is so perfect! I'm trying to get fit to go on a cruise this summer and I could use some ideas to help curb the munchies! :)

Chelle, that's cool! I actually have a word file that I typed a lot of ideas into once but never got around to printing them out ... it seemed pointless to assume I would turn the computer on every time I had a craving! Too much work to actually turn everything on and find the file ... :p

i just realized i shouldn't have made the dates so far off on this one... i really need these tips lol :p

oh well. should get them a week before we go away ... so at least i can use them to bust a few final pounds before post-easter vacation :)

I think taking out the trash is a very good thing to do! The smelly rotten food will sway you from even thinking about eating!

My sister and I just made a list 2 weeks ago and posted them on her refrigerator. (She said she forgot they were there! lol)

Think about what I am going to eat next....hahah JK! Working out helps, because something in your head clicks and you just start to be a little more health oriented.

This is a neat idea, even if you don't have a weight problem. Everyone needs to try to eat healthier.

Yes exercising is a good idea ... But I do want us all to be as creative as we can. Try to think outside the box. Think of something that others might not think of, or something that someone told you that you'd never heard before.

Introduce us to a new web site that's fun like swap bot ... ask us to start a new type of exercise we never tried before (and specify one or two), offer us a new hobby suggestion, tell us how we can meet a new friend, offer us a link to a tasty but healthful recipe we can make ... etc things to do right here, right now that would be fun and keep our mind off things like cookies, chocolate, ice cream, chips, etc :p

One reminder - if you don't get a list from a swap member, be sure to check your spam folder and contact the other member before you give them a bad rating. I've been in e-mail swaps before when I've sent the e-mail and it went to someone's spam folder and they were ready to rate me as a no-send!
