Question, are we to send professional art supplies, like from michaels or a craft store. Or the deparment store stuff?

user1867 08/ 8/2006 #

What I meant was, do we send student stuff, like crayola, and prang, or more serious stuff like derwent or strathmore?

user1108 08/11/2006 #

I don't know what the coordinator had in mind, but I personally would prefer real art supplies and not things like Crayola. In fact, I would be happy to post art supplies I might be interested in if my partner would like that! I would love to know specifically what my partner would be interested in as well. I am looking forward to this swap, I think it will be fun!

actually you can send whatever supplies you use. i have a journal i made that i will be sending along with a box of stuff i use when i journal...crayola crayons, prang watercolors, colored ink pens, and some tape tabs. i use these things all the time in my journals.

I'm a little confused re: the size of the box -- are we using a standard sized school supply box, or are we using the ones that are big enough for a pair of shoes?

user1108 08/20/2006 #

Hi, I'm a little confused as well. I too would like to know about the size of the box, but more importantly, are we supposed to send art supplies that WE use and enjoy, or do we send things that our PARTNER might like? You said you are going to send stuff for journaling, but what if your partner does not journal? I do collage and mixed media, as well as other things...what if my partner does not do that at all? If I send her supplies that I use, wouldn't that go wasted? Sorry, I should have asked this before the sign up date, but I always like to make sure my partners totally enjoy what I send. And I'm just kind of confused on this matter. Thanks!

i would be into either: things i like, or things my partner was in to. for example, if i got a whole box of stuff related to art journaling (or some other artistic endeavor) i might be totally inspired to use it. the idea of a "themed" art box is kinda cool...i might steal it! :-) i'm in to hearing my partner's likes. i definitely think it's important to send a box your swap partner will find useful.

For what it's worth, I'm open to anything. ;-)

Heather you can use either. i posted the show box sixe in case someone didn;t know about the school boxes you can get on every corner here. i have stuff that won;t fit in my box and i will wrap them separate and ship them with the box that has some items in it.

Cerri again either way. the supplies i have to send are things i use to journal but can be used in altered books, atcs, collages etc. i am not sure i have a set of things i use for each for me they are interchangeable.

Creativechange steal the idea and run with it!! have fun.

Heather - me too.

don;t think too much about this - send some of your favorite art items that you use and i am sure your partner will be happy.

I received my package today -- am I supposed to take a picture of it? :-D

user2068 08/25/2006 #

you can if you like then let us know where it is. glad you got your package!!

user2785 08/29/2006 #

Eeek. I just loaded a picture of what I got in the swap, but I'm not sure why it's so big -- is there anyway to edit it, so that I can resize it (again) and reload it?

You are so welcome -- I loved the smaller sized stuff (so much so that I bought some of them for me!) and I had a lot of fun putting toegether your package!
