Newbies are welcome with a well filled-out profile. Please, no one with a rating under 4.8 and no recent 1s or 3s. If you are interested in joining but do not meet these requirements, pm me and we can discuss it.

As always, if you're going to be late sending, please notify me and your partner. We haven't had any problems with bad swappers and I'd love to keep it that way.

is this swap for hand embroidery or can it be machine made? I do both so I had to ask. I am watching for now

i had a gut feeling it was going to be green this time! i have a design in mind already!

csjoyeuxnoel 04/28/2010 #

Auntjudy: we have always accepted both. There are a couple of other machine embroiderers who participate, I think, and no one seems to have a problem with that. You are welcome to do either.

What about fabric? Does it have to be on white cotton, or can it be on a patterned fabric?

Dragonfly2 05/10/2010 #

what size square does it need to be if the pattern being used is 4x4in

biscuitsandyarn 05/11/2010 #

Is it ok to embroider on a dish towel or totebag, or are we sending a square unfinished so our partners can create something with it? I just want to make sure I'm understanding. :)

csjoyeuxnoel 05/12/2010 #

Raegun, the choice of fabric is up to you. It can be plain or patterned.

Dragonfly, I would suggest you leave plenty of space for your partner to do whatever he or she wants with it. I usually send mine with several extra inches around the edge.

Biscuits, as I told Raegun, fabric is entirely your choice. If you'd like to embroider on something, I'm sure most anyone here would be happy to receive it.

I'm glad to see some new faces interested!

Just so as I am clear - does everything have to be green on the embroidery or only the main theme??? (For example, if there were flowers as part of the design would they need to be green along with the leaves and stems)

Astro 05/15/2010 #

Oh, I was wondering about that too. I am drawing up some designs and I just want to make sure I get everything right.

As long as the main color is green, other colors are fine. I'm using some brown and black in mine. This is the third color themed swap I've done, and sometimes I forget to put in everything. Sorry!
