Description:

Thank you JoyAnne for permission to an online version of her swap Theme A Day Journal ~ USA You will keep a journal for a month then send it to your partner. You can either do it on your blog (please ensure it will be easy to access) or use a word processor and e-mail (easier if it is converted to pdf file - you can pm and i will explain how that can be done).

1) Write an introduction.

2) Make a list of 10 things you need to do this week. 3) Who did you talk to today? List everyone even if it was just a hello to someone.

4) Write about your hobbies. Feel free to include a sample or a photo.

5) Create either a really ugly page (images, draw bad, ugly stickers, etc) or a really pretty page (images you like, cute/pretty drawings, pretty stuff)

6) List 10 things you can see from where you're sitting.

7) Electricity is a recent discovery. Think of 12 things you can do when there is no electricity available.

8) How much money did you spend today and what did you buy? From where?

9) Write a timeline of your day today. For example: 8:00 AM--Woke up and ate Frosted Flakes for breakfast. 8:30 AM--Took a shower and realized I was out of mousse when I started doing my hair.

10) Write down lyrics or a poem you really like.

11) Write about what scares you.

12) Write in a circle. Start at the top, side, bottom, middle and write making a huge never-ending line making a circle! Fill up mostly the whole page writing about a favorite ritual or tradition.

13) Cut out pictures, text, from magazines, newspapers, etc and glue them to the page to make art. Scan them in or make an online collage using picasa or .....

14) List 100 things you love (could be places, objects, people, etc)

15) Write about something you volunteered for or to do.

16) E-mail your partner a gift eg. scrapbook embellishments, e-book or .......

17) Write down a recipe you have tried and ENJOY! Did you make any adjustment to the recipe and why did you enjoy it?

18) Write about 5 of your short/long term goals?

19) List 10 things that you love (to do someday).

20) Write with multiple colors on the same page. The theme "If I could change one thing about my life it would be..... and why.."

21) Describe your favorite place to write in your journal and why it's your favorite. If you don't normally keep a journal, like myself, Describe your favorite place to just get away from it all. Someplace you like to be by yourself!

22) Write in all capital letters today about your pet peeves.

23) Look around the room. Choose one thing you see and write about it.

24) Tear or cut up a photo, magazine pic, map, etc., and glue the pieces back together randomly. Once again you can either scan this in or use your own computer software to crop and change your photos.

25) List three things you can't live without. (not the basic air, water, food)

26) If you had to evacuate your home because of a natural disaster, what three things would you take with you?

27) List 5 things you have collected at any time in your life.

28) Glue in or Insert picture of an artifact from your day. This could be a business card from a place you visited, a ticket from a movie you saw, a stamp from an envelope, etc.

29) Make a list of things you sense right now for each of your five senses: Touch, taste, sight, smell, sound.

30) Talk about the weather today and what you like or dislike about it. Tell us your favorite season.

Only assigning one partner because that will be a lot of reading to do before rating.

For #7 - how exactly do you turn a blog upside down and write? For #12 - how do you write in a circle on a blog? For #24 - I have no scanner or the software to do this.

I love journaling and this is a neat idea, but if it's supposed to be on a blog, for example, Insane Journal, Blurty, LIve Journal etc, I have not clue how to write in a circle, turn upside, etc. Perhaps you should have included in the description that a scanner or certain software is needed?

naddie 05/ 3/2010 #

@StarryNights actually, #7 can be done with this link http://flippa.com/auctions/76129/site but it's quite impossible to read it XD

Simone 05/ 3/2010 #

Thanks for pointing number # 7 - I missed that one somehow.

Think I will change it to something else.

12 and #24 can be done in a word document and then change into a jpeg file and posted as a picture in your blog. - free online programs can be used to convert files like http://www.zamzar.com/

You can also do collages using flickr photos or your own at http://www.bighugelabs.com/.

Simone 05/ 3/2010 #

not sure why that came out so big

tex82 05/ 3/2010 #

I already start making... a blog!

Simone 05/ 4/2010 #

Cool

CBS 05/ 5/2010 #

I am new. Am I uderstanding correctly can all of these be done on the computer or by and then scanned in?

CBS 05/ 5/2010 #

"by HAND" I was trying to say.

Tachy 05/ 6/2010 #

That's also a question I have. To rephrase, Can we do these by hand, or even just some of them by hand, and then scan them in (possibly adding digital elements) and then add them in with the rest of our journal, still sending digitally?

Simone 05/ 8/2010 #

Thats right CBS.

Your choices in compiling this journal is to some or all parts by hand and then scan or a word processing program or use an online journal (blog).

The main thing is that it must be sent digitally - an attachment to your e-mail or a link to your blog.

No issue with changing the order as you make it clear enough for partner so they can see you have completed all the tasks.

Depending on the wordprocessor program you using you may already have a built in converter so just check under File and see if there is a command that says export as pdf - this will save your file under the same name but as a pdf file.

Otherwise you can go to http://www.zamzar.com/ you don't have to register to use it. Load your file, following instructions it will take up 10min or so for them to e-mail you the file in pdf form. Save it on to you computer and them you should be able to send it.

If your file is to big you might want to divided into 2 or maybe four files instead.

You will notice I gave a few days to send after the month is up because you never know what hiccups may arise.

I started, didnt finish, but everyone is welcome to see it. I will only send to my partner when I finish, but she can see it if she want it...

Tachy 05/22/2010 #

number 14 (100 things you love) and number 19 (10 things you love) seems kind of silly to have 2 prompts that are basically the same but with an extra zero on one. Is this correct?

tex82 05/23/2010 #

I think that too, Tachy!! Any chance to change?

Tachy 05/25/2010 #

Might as well go ahead and post my linky here too if anyone wants to go check out what is going on as I update. If you are my partner and don't want to see it until the end, don't click the link!
