Description:

For this swap, we will be creating a lovely handmade Harajuku style necklace for our partner! This is a profile-based swap... when partners are assigned, check their profile and tailor the necklace to suit them. Necklaces can be Harajuku or kawaii (if their profile says they like kawaii necklaces - otherwise, stick with Harajuku style).

For this swap, the default metal color will be silver or silver plated. Please do not join if you do not like silver color or cannot produce a necklace in silver color. You are free to post other metal preferences in the comments section, so your partner can take them into consideration and use a different metal if the have they supplies to do so.

You may post any information in comments about what you like - such as other metal colors you'd love to get, lengths you prefer, favorite color combos, themes, whether you would like kawaii, etc. If posting specific colors and themes, please give a variety so your partner has lots to work with.

If you don't post information in comments, your partner will use your profile as inspiration for your necklace.

Please observe the following rules

  • Necklaces must be of good quality. Please no shoddily made items. Send something you would like to receive.
  • Have useful information in your profile: colors you like, themes, shapes (ie; characters, stars, rainbows, blue and white, etc, etc, etc). This will be your partner's inspiration if you don't offer info in comments.
  • Send a silver-colored necklace unless you can cater to your partners wishes for another metal.
  • Use quality materials!
  • necklace must be made by you!
  • Send necklaces securely in a gift box or with lots of padding and bubble wrap. Throwing a necklace alone in a paper envie could cause damage. Being careless with your shipment is a failure to meet the swap requirements... no one wants to be disappointed with a broken necklace in the mail.
  • Harajuku style is important. Think bold fashion, bright colors and big necklaces. A dainty little pendant on a chain does not count and is not what this swap is about. Try to be elaborate in your design... use your imagination and get creative! Have fun with this. :)
  • No cheap materials like pony beads, pearler bead crafts, etc.

Tip: Searching for Harajuku Jewelry on Flickr offers up some great inspiration!

You must meet the group requirements to join. I reserve the right to bump anyone from this swap who has had any recent issues within the group lately.

Man, awesome swap! If only I was going to be home and not our of the country! Maybe we'll have another swap like this again at a later date!

Can I just ask that my partner not make mine too short. Im not a fan of choker style or necklaces that are too close to the neck. Sorry but they make me feel like im gonna choke. Thanks.

I really wish I could join this. I love all your recent jewelry swaps, Kiki! I'm crossing my fingers that you'll be hosting more things like this and the bead swap after September when I can make a triumphant return.

I like black, white and red together. I LOVE the black maneki neko cats, black lace, hearts, vintage sparkly necklaces, gothic, chunky etc.
