I posted this to the Vegan Swappers group. :)

I just bought a cook book (for my nephew as he is allergic to almost everything under the sun) that has soy free, gluten free, egg free and dairy free recipes..so this sounds like fun!

Are we sending one recipe to 3 people or 3 recipes per person? Thanks

dadalivyatan 05/29/2010 #

Can these recipes include egg? There are so many definituons of 'vegan', lol.

agirlnamedfriday 05/30/2010 #

No animal products, sorry :(

agirlnamedfriday 05/30/2010 #

3 recipes to 3 different people. I'll fix my description. Thanks for pointing it out :)

Vegetarians are generally the people who vary with definitions, but Vegan is no animal products whatsoever, meaning not eating animals or anything that comes from animals... Hope I cleared that up :)

agirlnamedfriday 05/30/2010 #

Please remember, the recipes cannot include gluten or soy related ingredients either :)

user2637 05/30/2010 #

@dadalivyatan I think there's really only 3 definitions of 'vegan' (perhaps you are thinking of 'vegatarian'?). There are those who follow a vegan diet (eating no animal products), those who follow a vegan diet yet eat honey ("honey-vegans") and those who follow a vegan lifestyle (eating and using no animals products at all, including for clothing, etc).

Hope that clears it up for you! :)

dadalivyatan 05/30/2010 #

Yeah, I was thinking 'vegetarian', silly me XD Thanks to everybody for clearing it up!

user2637 05/31/2010 #

You're welcome. Vegetarians can be confusing. There are lacto-ovo (the most common I think), just lacto, just ovo. And then there's the whole misconception that fish are vegetables. blows a raspberry to the Catholic Church Crazy "no meat on Fridays, but fish is fine" rules really, really confused a lot of people. :\ For the record, people who eat vegatarianly but also consume sea creatures are called pescatarians. :D

@user2637

I like to call myself a "beegan" because I eat honey :D

user2637 06/ 7/2010 #

haha, BEEgan! I love it and I will now use it! :):)
