This is an international swap. Sorry, no newbies. Must have minimum 5 recent successful mailed swaps. No unexplained no-sends. For this swap you will have one partner. You will send your partner handmade representations of TWO different goddesses. This is the minimum requirement. You may send more if you are inclined, and/or include non-handmade items in the package. Any culture, any pantheon. I may do Mary myself, whatev. What is a representation? An image/piece of art of some kind. An ATC, a paper collage... something sewn ... sculpture... drawing... embroidery... You will include a letter or short note to your partner telling a little bit about why you picked these goddesses. And if it is not obvious... WHO they are. No, you do not have to revere/worship any of these goddesses. They could simply be goddesses you are interested in, goddesses from the native folk ways of your country or area, goddesses you have studied in school or not. FYI, your representation does not have to be "realistic". Abstract is fine. I realize leaving this so open also leaves room for "inequality" for lack of a better term. It's not fair to create a goddess quilt for someone and get a bookmark in return. Yes, you might spend time creating something very elaborate and mail it out only to receive something that took 5 minutes. But I really don't want to restrict anyone's creativity by being more specific in the requirements. I just hope that people will be inspired. You know, plus, I am really hoping to get a shrine, since I want one but can't join a swap for one since I have no idea how to make one! ha ha! But if I don't, I don't. The only restriction I will place is..this is not an email swap and therefore you must make a physical object. The point is to make a physical manifestation of these goddesses in the world, and to spend time thinking about them, and to use your hands to make them manifest, and then to spread that across the world via mailing these items elsewhere. [PS. This is not a swap for anyone of a particular religious persuation.] |
