This exchange will allow new sewers, experienced or in between sewers, and can't forget quilters, a chance to send and receive 6 fat quaters. This exchange will be amongst 2 people. So 3 quaters for each partner/ A GREAT way to clean out the stash a little and yet still enhance it.

I love fabric! Can we have more than one partner?!

Chanecia 08/15/2006 #

iwcquilts 08/15/2006 #

It would give us several more fat quarters if you included an extra partner.

user1940 08/15/2006 #

i'm signing up for this. i'm in Canada but can provide a US address to my partner(s). i have enough to send to 2 partners.

user998 08/15/2006 #

I'm up for more than one partner. It does give us more to play with! :D

Chanecia 08/15/2006 #

I'm gonna edit this swap for 2 partners. Being this is my 1st swap, I want to keep it pretty simple.

Thanks Necia

user1938 08/16/2006 #

For whoever gets my name, I love cotton prints, like for quilting. Especially little florals or thos 1930's with little kids and such on them. Don't like purple or peach. Love fall colors. However, I will take and use anything. Just thought I would help out whoever has me.

user2044 08/16/2006 #

What is a fat quarter? I like to sew but I have never heard of this.

Chanecia 08/17/2006 #

A fat quater isn't your average 1/4yd of Fabric, as the name might lead some to believe. A fat quater is cut specefically 18'' by 22. Most popular amongst quilters, but I happen to love using them to make simple bags.

user2044 08/18/2006 #

Thank you so much. I don't feel so dumb now.

toryam 08/20/2006 #

Hi, I'm new to this so I have a couple of questions. First tho', I'd like to say "thanks" to Necia for hosting the swap, this is a great idea. Is there a file somewhere with the specific rules of the swap listed? How and when will we get our partners' names? Thanks!

skenn 08/22/2006 #

I LOVE fabric, have been sewing for years. Can't wait to see what comes in the mail. I love fall colors as well and do not go for brights or pastels...FYI.

Chanecia 08/24/2006 #

Sorry for the late response toryam. It's my understanding that if you log in after august 31st, the computer would've matched you up with someone. You won't get an email, it's up to each individual to log in and see who've they have been matched with.

Hope that helps. necia

skenn 08/24/2006 #

Are we limited to JUST sending the required number of fat quarters to our people or can we be creative along with the fats??? Inquiring minds would like to know?

Chanecia 08/24/2006 #

The required # is the MINIMIMUM. By all means be creative. Creativity rocks!

skenn 08/25/2006 #

Thanks for getting back to me. I was planning on an extra gifty goodie along with the fat quarters. Fat quarters are GREAT, but extras are the icing on the cake.

user2102 08/25/2006 #

This sounds like fun...been wanting to make quilts for my grandkids, what a better way to start! I love all colors, especially brights/purple/teal and sapphire blue.

skenn 08/25/2006 #

I am new to this form of swap, so I am not sure how and where I find out about my two names. Do I have to go to some place to find out? Do I get an email telling me where to check? Thanks for taking care of us newbies.

user1938 08/26/2006 #

Sherri - You'll get an email AUg 31 or Sept 1 directing you to come here and check for your partners. You can then click on the 'my partners' link at the top of this swap ON THAT DAY. It won't be here before that... Have fun!

user998 08/29/2006 #

I really don't have any color requirements, though I am partial to purples, greens blacks and oranges. :D

user2847 08/29/2006 #

What a fun swap! I was just re-re-re-organizing my stash over the weekend wondering what I'll ever do with all this beautiful fabric I've accumulated. Now I know! To my swap-partners, I love anything cotton or wool, calicos, wool felt.... I especially like vintage or vintage-looking 30s through 70s prints, but I'm open! Can't wait to put together a couple of fun packages for my swappees! Yay!

user998 08/31/2006 #

Oh! And I forgot to mention, cotton is really the only material I use in quilts, so cotton is preferred in the Fat Quarters.

user1460 08/31/2006 #

Excited to see who I get so I can start collecting for them. I love cotton fabrics (for quilts) and I especially love natural colors and retro stuff. I also am way into fall colors right now. This is going to be fun!

BMT 09/ 1/2006 #

Figured I'd throw this out there for my partner...I am a quilter..love cotton and any color/print/etc...I will always find something to make...

user1940 09/ 1/2006 #

i am the Canadian who has snuck into this swap! Whoever has my name please email me and i will give you an address for the states (unless of course you don't mind shipping to Canada in which case please mark your parcel as a "gift" so that i won't have to pay ridiculous customs and tax amounts). i've got my fabrics all picked out........fun! oh and i like cotton, 100% wool and wool felt.

igobylorib 09/ 1/2006 #

I LOVE cotton prints that are vintage looking (feedsacks are my favroites). I tend to favor small florals or polka dots and also love to play with wool felt :)

JTB769 09/14/2006 #

I received my fat quarters yesterday from Chante of Harlem Purls. She purchased them from one of my favorite stores, The City Quilter.

I received 4 fat quarters with matching buttons. One each of the following colors: Red, Blue, Green and Yllow. They have designs in the backgrounds. Some stripes, some with swirls. I LOVE THEM.

An interesting curveball to this all, she and I both received a set of fat quarters from Toryam.

Thanks again Chante!

user998 09/14/2006 #

Should I be worried since I haven't recieved anything yet? o.o

user998 09/14/2006 #

Oh, scratch that. I just realized the ship by date! Heheheh. Silly me.

toryam 09/18/2006 #

Hi, Leslie! Got the fabrics today and they are adorable! I love that they all coordinate with the kitty! Thank you so much! Have a great day!

skenn 09/18/2006 #

Wahoo!!! I hit the jackpot with today's mail. I got fat quarters from two people. From Necia in NJ I got three wonderful purple fats. Can't wait to put them into something. From Elizabeth in Texas I got three wonderful fats too and a bonus of some Waverly fabric as well. The neat thing about all this fabric is..1. I don't have any of them and 2. I have never seen some of these patterns or prints. Thank you to both of you. Sherri in Kansas

user1938 09/18/2006 #

Mine were sent out today. I didn't get a chance last week. Hope you all enjoy them!

pamelarm 09/19/2006 #

cmykrgb 09/19/2006 #

Got my two swap packets in the mail, Yippee! This is my first swap-bot experience, and I've been AMAZED at the thought and care that went into each package. Both were extremely generous in sending additional fabrics and a thoughtful personal note.

From Pam I received dots and circles and dotted swirls in dark browns, as well as two vintage fabrics (dark brown with neon flowers, and a most unusual woven gridded circles on sheer shiny fabric). All were carefully tied together with ribbon and a tiny treat attached. Talk about inspiring creativity!

From Lucinda I received polkadots in deep red and in black, some sage green swirly dots, and the most FUN bright circles design I've EVER seen, along with a tidbit of I-Spy critter landscape for my current project.

This swap did just what I'd hoped, knocked me out of my own creative rut by bringing in colors and textures and patterns that I may not have chosen on my own. Now I'm excited about envisioning these new materials in my next project. Thanks!

user1940 09/19/2006 #
