Description:

I've noticed some people getting upset that there are a lot of USA-only swaps and excluding folks from the USA from their swaps. It's nothing against our friends across the world - postage to send a simple postcard is 3x as much to send it overseas as it is to send domestic and first class letters are just as expensive. It's just hard to angel swaps that are international.

So... I'm taking a chance here. I can't promise to angel, but I'll do my best. This bookmark swap will be for everyone all over the world. Newbies are welcome.

Send your partner a handmade, free, or store bought bookmark. This is sender's choice, but please no ratty bookmarks with worn-down edges or rips. If you're going to send a free bookmark, please make it a nice one: something pretty or interesting.

There will be one partner. If you get a nice, neat bookmark from your partner, please rate a 5. And please make sure you rate.

If you have recent no-sends or late sends, or less than a 4.8 rating you will be banned. Sorry.

I hate compaliners about non-international swaps. Facts are that as of right now there are 431 swaps and 334 of those are international! Of the 97 that are regional most of those also include Canada. There are very few USA only swaps - as well as very few international people hosting swaps.

I would join this if it was for a nice handmade or store bought bookmark. But it also states for a free bookmark. If I take time to make a nice handmade bookmark or buy a nice store bought bookmark I sure would be disappointed if I received a free bookmark in return. Just how I feel about this.

Well, a lot of people join the swaps not because of what they'll get but what they want to send out. I've sent nice things out for swaps and didn't get things quite as nice, but I think that's the fun of swapping. I didn't create the swap to get "stuff." I just wanted to make a nice swap that people could have fun with.

I'm not sure if you can make requests, but I would love to recieve a handmade bookmark, if possible! In my opinion they are so much more interesting than store bought, but of course it's up to the sender! :)

When i send out my swaps, i always include a some stickers or a little something else, so, an idea would be if it is a free or plainish bookmark, that it just boosts the surprise of the receiver. Just something that i would do. :o)

The free ones from Indy book stores are collectible to some of us. And I have some old Smokey the Bear freebies that are now very collectible that I'm sure were free back in their day. "One man's trash is another man's treasure" !!
