Description:

Know someone who could use a pick-me-up? My mother-in-law recently moved into an assisted living facility. While she has made new friends, she checks her mailbox everyday, hoping to find a cheery greeting.

For this swap - you will be assigned 2 partners and will have to send 2 greeting/'thinking of you cards'. Once the partners have been assigned - each of your partners will EMAIL YOU the snail mail address of someone they think could use a card to brighten their day and you will send a card to their loved one(s). You could email the same address to both partners or send a different one to each one. To send your assigned partners a message - go to the "Rate your partners and coordinator" section and click on their Swap-Bot name, then Send Message. They will send a card to that person and then message you back when they have sent it.

Please, please, please - No Flakers! The idea here is to do something nice for someone who needs it and since the recipients are probably not Swap-botters it will be hard to track down if people have gotten cards or not. I will angel if needed - but again - it may be hard to follow up.

As for rating - again, it will not be practical to rate when the cards have been received - so when your partners message you that they have SENT the card to your loved one, go back to the "Rate your partners and coordinator" page and rate them. If this doesn't make sense - leave me a message below and I will try to explain it again a different way.

What a lovely idea! Thank you for coordinating this swap and I guarantee that you will have a star from me! (to bad I can give only one...)

What an amazing swap it is. I signed up for my daugher Holly who has cancer... you can read about her in my profile. Cards always cheer her up A LOT and this swap sounds lovely.

I would also LOVE to brighten someone's day too!

I plan on having another one of these after this one is over. Seems like a simple enough swap and an easy way to spread cheer!

I would very much like to join this swap. I am new to the start and would really like to get started!

I am doing this for my younger sister... she just started college this week and is feeling a bit overwhelmed. I think getting a few words of encouragement will help.

OK - Partners have been assigned. Remember to click on the link above that says "Rate your partners and coordinator" section and click on the Swap-Bot name there which should take you to their page. Then click on 'Send Message' and send them the mailing address of your loved one. A bit of information on who the person is and why you picked them might be helpful.

Thanks for participating. If this works out well - I am planning on doing more swaps like this.

To everyone taking part,

I have decided to leave swap bot. Don't worry, my partners you're cards have been bought, filled out and are ready for shipping. I will not let you're friends and loved ones down.

I joined the Candyless Halloween Swap, but the rules were drastically changed as soon as I joined. In order to take part in swaps I have to "prove myself" by having at least 5 package swaps by October. This is not possible for me and I am not willing to comply with such a rule change.

So from now I will be swapping with my pen pals. Swap Bot has too many hoops to jump through. And while I fully understand that you have to be careful about "flakers", this site is too difficult for new people like myself.
