Write (or print out) 100 quotes, inspirational thoughts, AND journal prompts for your partner. The point of these is to make your partner feel good, to encourage, to inspire, to make them think. No downers!! Happy things, beautiful things, encouraging things, hopeful things, funny things, things to make her THINK about something in a new way, questions about her life, her hopes, her dreams... nothing depressing but it doesn't ALL have to be rainbows and butterflies, either. Cut them into strips (like fortunes!), fold or roll and way you like, and put them inside SOMETHING -you choose what, just not a regular envelope. A jar, a box, a bucket, a wallet, a matchbox... anything except a plain envie. Any little thing. It can be handmade, purchased, or repurposed. Mail them out... THEN... create a journal for the partner to whom you SENT the 100 slips of paper, using the 100 slips you received... You MUST use at LEAST 25 prompts, but use more if you can. Open one of your received prompts every day if that makes it simpler. Make any type of page you want. ANYTHING. Write, draw, create, clip, glue, use found items,or just make a list... don't do the same type of entries for every page, but you don't have to be Picasso, either. One page MUST be about yourself, a kind of letter of introduction. Journal size and style is totally up the the sender. This is a Big Swap. (I capitalize because I hosted it in the Big Swaps group first!!) You will rate your partner ONCE, but for two elements... did they send you a package with 100 prompts, and did they later send you a journal with at LEAST twenty-five entries, based on their received journal prompts and inspirations? Prompts MUST be mailed out by October 15th...journals must be completed and mailed out by January 19th. That should give plenty of time; three months to get the journal finished... but do mail out as early as you can. :) Let me know if these dates do not sound reasonable and we will add some time. (Initially I leaned towards 30-40 pages required and a February deadline, but thought that was too far out there...). At this point the swap is over, but if you have lots of prompts left... don't waste them! For this swap to work for everyone, the first half of the swap MUST be completed on time, and the earlier the better. Don't join if you aren't sure you can get it done!! This will be a really difficult one to angel, so I will not commit to doing that. Our group is strong and safe, so hopefully this won't be an issue... but a lot can happen in four months!! By signing up you are taking a risk that you will send out something lovely and full of heart and get nothing in return. I will be checking profiles again... if you have unresolved ones or threes please pm me to explain, to avoid being automatically banned. Thanks!! EDIT: IF YOU DO NOT SEND YOUR PROMPTS OUT BY THE DEADLINE, EXPECT TO BE REMOVED FROM THE GROUP WHEN THE SWAP CONCLUDES AND BANNED FROM ANY SWAPS MEANWHILE. It is unfair to your partner not to send the prompts in a timely fashion. Let's play nice and make it easy on our partners, who will be creating something very special for us. If for some reason you cannot send them by the deadline of October 15th, PLEASE e-mail some of them to your partner, so she can begin while she waits for her package. This is not actually an out, just a suggestion of courtesy. |
