Description:

Thank you to my buddie twobluecrows for allowing me to set up R#2 and continue this series of great swaps.

Bluework is just like Redwork except (duh!) for the color. Blackwork Is a little different being mostly outline shapes filled with geometric patterns.

Any color blue will work as long as you only use one shade per 5” block.

Simple outline or line drawing images are best, (as in a coloring book) and you can do them in just a stem stitch, or combination of stitches, or cross-stitch, as long as you only use one color of blue in each block.

The square is to be a 5" square of good quality 100% cotton fabric in white or pale cream, and the image should only fill a 4 x 4 area in the center leaving a blank border area of approximately one inch.

Wash your fabric before embroidering, press it after and keep the stitches neat. Package it in a zip-loc or similar baggie, slipped between two pieces of cardboard, chipboard, etc to keep it protected. Tape your envelope well—don’t let the post office machinery ruin your efforts.

1 partner—one 5” completed square-- mailed during swap time limits

Rated Swappers must have at least 4.9 with no recent no-sends. Newbies welcome if you are an experienced embroiderer. Please PM ME BEFORE SIGNING UP TO EXPLAIN YOUR EXPERIENCE AND COMMITTMENT TO FULFILLING YOUR SWAPS--no PM can get you banned.

Twobluecrows says: Machine embroidery is allowed, though she prefers to encourage and support the preservation of good hand work! (she gives hearts accordingly!)

I (perkl8r) second that motion! I love hand embroidery work!

Please PM me (perkl8r) with any questions.

Note: Counted cross stitch on Aida cloth is acceptable as long as it’s only one shade of blue and fits the size requirements.

I really prefer handwork, and 'normal' bluework, instead of counted cross stitch. I'm busy making my square... looking good.

Hi perkl8r

For some reason, I cannot PM you, so I will just try to get in touch with you via the comments. I am a newbie to embroidery, but have been doing it for a while now. I am really in love with it and have done many different things (pillows, pillowcases, bags, skirts). I am by no means an expert, but I think I am pretty good. At least I have had a lot of practice :). If you would like, I can send you some pictures of my completed projects. I look forward to joining in this swap...I already have a great image in mind for bluework. Thanks so much.

FYI I would prefer your own handiwork, not machine and not cross stitch. If you dont know what to do for me I love birds. I have never done bluework before but I have done red. But I like blue better. Im excited.

FYI I truly prefer handwork, not machine or cross stitch! I also love birds especially pairs of love birds, tea pots and tea cups, coffee designs and cat designs. I love bluework and these types of swaps!

I received a message from camelsamba stating that she will be sending late due to "life issues", and that she has contact her partners.

I hope things get back on track for you camelsamba and you are back enjoying swap-bot with us real soon!
