Description:

Tea swaps are my favorite, and some of the best tea I've been sent has been packets of locally made loose tea blends.

For this swap, you will have 1 partner. You will visit your local gourmet shop, tea purveyor, or herbalist, and buy 2 oz (100 Gm) of tea blends made by that store (not a brand name that they just happen to carry - it has to be their own original). One 2-oz. packet or two 1-oz packets, it's up to you. The packets need to be sturdy and well sealed, and preferably send in a padded envelope or little box. The cost will probably be about $10.

Feel free to list preference in the comments as to whether you prefer herbal or true tea(black/green/white). Although it's unlikely that your partner could honor more specific requests such as flavors, you are free to list them. (If you don't like the tea you receive, it would make a great holiday gift repackaged in little tins or organza bags.)

For hearts, incluse a little something extra that's tea related.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: Rating over 4.75, no recent no-sends, and have ratings in more than 5 swaps.

Happy Tea-ing!

I really don't like "red zinger" types of tea with rosehips and hibiscus but anything else is great.

Hey Jess! You've been my swap partner before. Anyway... what about ordering online? Can we do bulk teas from tea purveyors online?

What if you like to create your own blends? I often mix the different loose teas I own, and have come up with some fantastic flavors. Would it be okay to send one of those?

As for making your own blends, I ran a swap like that last year and what I got from my partner was a mixture of Tang, spices, and instant tea, so I'm a little gun-shy about make-your-own. I'm OK with it as long as it is all plant ingredients, and you list the contents.

As for ordering online, that would be OK as long as it is not from a well-known tea company like Stash that is readily available to many people. The point of the swap is to try something really unique that you probably can't get where you live, so if you can do that online, go for it!

No offense intended, but I agree with Jessie, I'd rather get blends from a real tea shop.

Finally an excuse to check out that fancy schmancy gourmet tea shop near me, wahahaha

My tea went out to B.C. today!! Had a great time and hope we'll see another swap like this soon! I love bulk tea and tea shops!
