Description:

Since I create swaps so seldom, I thought I would go ahead and list the November swap while I am thinking about it - since I will blink and it will be November already! I hope the time periods work out for everyone. If you think different dates would work out better, let me know. I'm all for stress free swaps and prefer that deadlines be a natural extension of an activity, not something that makes one ill. Everyone in OFAP is invited to participate - no previous participation required.

This swap is loosely based on the Notecards to Go monthly group swap called "Getting to know you." Basically it is a way to reach out to two group members and write a little something about your life. It was friendly and not stressful and not too time consuming and also very fun. I've enjoyed meeting some of you via our group forum, but I thought this swap would be a nice way for us all to get a little closer over time and to hear from some of those who do not write in the forum (though they may read them). and of course, it would be nice to have some of our newer OFAP members participate!

So, for this swap, all you need to do is write a little note (a paragraph or two) to your partners by the send by date. That's it. I would suggest writing something about what is happening right now in your life, maybe what you had for dinner, what you bought when you went shopping, what book you are reading now - that sort of thing. If you write about what is going on in your life currently, then it will be easier to remember in case you get the same partner again next time. If it is someone you don't know, you can also send your standard penpal introductory letter if you want to, but it is not necessary.

The note can be written on a notecard or stationery which can be handmade or store-bought. It can be hand written or typed, which ever is easiest for you (and most readable for your partners). I get great joy from reading a letter written in beautiful handwriting but that is something that is often out of my own reach - either due to the tiredness of my hands or the lack of the time to do it right or the thoughts going so fast in my head that my hand can not keep up with them! Besides, you can put notecards into your printer, change your margins to match and then use "script" font to print them out. So, do as you please and have fun with this!

The usual swap-bot rules apply. Ratings of 4.8 and above needed.

How wonderful! 16 participants! Thank you, June, for the additional publicity for this swap - through both the "good morning coffee" sticky and your email. Partners are not assigned. Thanks for participating!

Oh funny! Should say "partners are now assigned." but of course you knew that!
