Photoshop me!
Swap Coordinator:Halogen (contact)
Swap categories: Miscellaneous  Photography  Email
Number of people in swap:17
Location:International
Type:Type 1: Electronic
Rating requirement:4.50 (unrated swappers allowed)
Last day to signup/drop:October 25, 2010
Date items must be sent by:November 1, 2010
Number of swap partners:3
Description:

This swap is for people who like playing in photoshop and want some crazy computer art of themselves! Everyone will get a photo of each of their partners and alter it in photoshop (or other similar program) then send it back.

Alterations could include: changing colours, adding text layers, touching up, applying effects, anything else you can think of!

Please put some effort into this, don't just add a word or do a one click effect. Also do not make any pictures offensive or inappropriate; this is about making computer art not defacing portraits.

How it will work:

1) When partners are assigned (after oct 25th) send a quick message by email to each partner saying something like "I'm your partner for the photoshop me swap." Do this asap so you have more time for editing.

2) When you get these messages reply with a digital photograph of yourself or another family member or friend you would like photoshop art of. (Please do this NO LATER than oct 28th! I can't make two deadlines but you need to give your partners time!)

3) When you get the photograph from each partner, edit it and send it back by the swap deadline (Nov 1st)

If you don't 100% understand I'm happy to explain in more detail, just leave a comment. This is my first time hosting a swap so if you have any suggestions I'd love to hear about it.

I don't have photoshop, but I like to use Picnik.com - is that ok? Or does it have to be photoshop?

Halogen 10/19/2010 #

Picnik.com looks fine, and it's free so anyone else with the same concern can go check it out. The specific software doesn't matter as long as it's for editing photos (ie don't just draw some stick figures in using paint)

Awesome, thanks!

Bastet 10/20/2010 #

Is it ok if I join the swap but the work is made by my husband ? (he is the photoshop artist in the house !) Also, do I have to send a photo from me or it can be my baby ?

Halogen 10/20/2010 #

@Bastet Yes, that's fine. Maybe just put a small note in the email saying he is doing the editing. I'll amend the description to say you can use other family members.

I am so in....I just got a new version of PSP (X3) and it gives me a excuse to use it. Thanks for setting it up.

I'm in! Looks like fun.

Muna 10/22/2010 #

sounds fun. I love photoshop. But 3 partners is too many. I wanna focus on my work.

Sillyna511 10/25/2010 #

I just realized.... since we'll have 3 partners, we need to choose 3 of our own photos that we want edited! Yikes. I guess I need to look through my photos and choose which 3 I want done, so I can get them to my partners as soon as we're assigned. This could be tough, as I have over 2000 pics of my son already, and he's only 6 months old, lol. And definately want one of him done. Hhmm.... which ones to choose?

Halogen 10/25/2010 #

@Sillyna511 you are free to send the same picture to all thee partners or different ones. It just depends on if you want multiple versions of the same image or three completely different things.

I had a lot of fun doing this! Could you pm me, if you ever do a second one like this?

Halogen 10/31/2010 #
