Description:

This is a big swap, not really in price (tea is realtively cheap), but in concept and effort. The idea is to create either some kind of advent calendar gift with one cup of tea for each day or a series of eight Hanukkah gifts each with 3 bags of tea [that way everyone gets the same amount :)] Please post in your profile which holiday you celebrate, and maybe a bit about how you celebrate it and then make sure you go to your partners profile to determine what kind of items you should be putting together.

Ideally it should be a different kind of tea for each day, but I realize that may be a bit unrealistic for most people. So I am going to say - bare minimum there have to be 8 different kinds of tea and no more than 3 of the same kind of tea bag overall. Feel free to subsititue loose tea if that suits your/your buddy's taste, just make sure to be aware of international shipping rules and regulations. If you want to do more than one bag a day and spoil the other person, I encourage you to. It is the season of giving afterall...

Each tea bag should be concealed in some way (whether wrapped, behind a door, etc) and labeled so that it can be opened on the appropriate day. In addition you should include one Christmas or Hanukkah themed bonus item (Christmas/Hanukkah tea cup, tea cozy, a set of tea towels, tea ornament, etc.)

I am going to put two weeks between the end of the swap and the start of December. Please make sure that you get things out on time for this swap. (I'm as guilty of that as anyone, but I really want to make sure that everyone has the best chance possible of having their package in hand on December 1st.) I'd also love to see everyone submit pictures of what they received.

You must have 4.5 rating to join. If you have 1's I also require an email/pm explaining the situation and indication that you have communicated with the person who rated you to rectify the situation. Newbies are welcome, but I require a breif email and I will be limiting the total number of newbies if there are way too many.

I'm going to open it up internationally. The tea should be pretty light weight and there are lots of lightweight options for you bonus extra. There is also a big gap between the close and send date which should leave everyone time to plan accordingly for sealed tea bags if your are sending to Australia.

Is this US only or International?

while I would prefer a chanukah-themed project, it would be fine to get the advent-themed one since my birthday is Dec. 22nd and I would use it as a countdown to my birthday.

I'm an advent person. I can't wait!

What a WONDERFUL swap idea!! Thank you SO much!! I celebrate both Pagan (myself) holidays, and Christian (my husband and son and rest of family) holidays, so please count me in as having a Christmas one!

same as purple whimsy - i celebrate Hanukkah, but my birthday is Dec 21, so a countdown to birthday would be fun too. This is such a clever idea for a tea swap!

This is awesome. I cant wait to get creative with all those little doors or packages, and all the flavours, wOoO thanks PoofSizzle!

P.S Id like a christmassy type one!

I'd prefer to have one for Hanukkah, but either is fine with me, I'm not difficult, as we sort of celebrate both. We don't decorate for Christmas (so don't send me an ornament, lol), and normally exchange our gifts during Hanukkah. We do exchange gifts on Christmas with our extended family, which is why I'm fine with either.

I'm not going to be able to do this swap after all. I'm sad, it sounded so fun.

I'm a christmas/solstice type person. :)

This is a really great idea! I'll be doing this one to share with my parents. We would like ours to be Christmas themed. Thanks!

So excited! I celebrate Christmas, and loose teas are fine with me (as long as they are packaged well!)

I almost missed this one, but I'm in. What a great swap. Christmas for me.
