Description:

Hello fellow swapbotties!

Cold weather has hit and I know one of the first things I crave when the wind starts howling is a nice mug of hot toddy. It got me thinking about some of my favourite hot tea and alcoholic drink mixes. And thus this swap was born!

Your Mission:

Pick your favourite tea and put some alcohol in it. Earl Grey and cointreau with a slice of lemon, blueberry tea and cinnamon schnapps, lapsang souchong with coors lite, that sort of thing. I suggest extensive experimentation. Mail a sample of the tea along with the recipe for the best combination to your partner. No need to include a sample of the alcohol. Receive your tea, put the kettle on and relax.

Since tea is cheap to send this swap is open to the ENTIRE UNIVERSE! Except children and anyone who lives in a country in which its illegal to receive dried up leaves in the mail. Sorry dudes.

Make sure you specify for ages 21 and older...although I'm not sure how you can control that. You have to be 18 to join this site but in the US you have to be 21 to drink. And in some countries it could be illegal to send something without the ingredients on it.

Except that in most countries the legal age for consuming alcohol is 18 (or even less). So for responsible swappers, maybe?

Karalalala 11/ 7/2010 #

Youre just sending tea, so it should be okay. No alcohol is provided. But still, if it's illegal for you to drink, dont join this swap and get super drunk or ILL CALL THE POLICE!!!!!!

And you can't mail tea to Australia! (agricultural regulations prohibit it) So the poor Aussies have to skip this one.

Karalalala 11/ 7/2010 #

Oh... I forgot about Australia and New Zealand, sorry guys.

rubyhousesliprs 11/ 7/2010 #

I'm only 41. A recipe containing alcohol might make me drunk. Can I still join?? :)

rubyhousesliprs 11/ 7/2010 #

Okay, Okay, I couldn't resist. I know, sarcastic.

I am from Australia and am actually very interested in trying this swap. would you allow me to join if I am just requesting the recipe from my partner and no tea?

Karalalala 11/ 7/2010 #

Yep, please join up, just let your partner know!

New Zealand is fine, the only tea I have ever had confiscated and treated was one with actual citrus peel in it (loose tea) .... commercial tea bags are fine (citrus can contain nasty fungus).

megapanda 11/23/2010 #

hope if/when you assign partners you change the send by date. D:

Mrrranda 11/24/2010 #

Sorry, but with partners still unassigned, this is coming up too close to Thanksgiving for me to have time to send now - if anyone wants to do a one-on-one version of this come mid-December, let me know.

SaintUrsula 11/24/2010 #

Yeah, I am dropping as well. I'd love to do a swap like this, but it doesn't look like it's going to happen right now.

Karalalala 11/25/2010 #

AHHHHHHH sorry everybody! Its been a long long time since I did a swap and for some reason thought it was automatic. Im an idiot. Totally understand all the drop outs, sorry guys! You now have partners assigned those who stuck with me.

Karalalala 11/25/2010 #

Hey everyone, again, Ive extended the swap deadline to December 3rd!

Am I really going to be able to send this to the Republic of Korea?
