I wish I was in the USA for this one!

If we find something "cool" at a thrift store, an we alter it before we send it?

sorry..."can" we alter it, or is this just strictly send as it is?

I agree with Luleemik. If need be, can we paint, decorate, repair, or embelish something we find at the thrift shop? I have an embroidery machine and love to decorate towel sets, napkins, etc. Just a thought.

Oooh if either @luleemik or @skippysmom get me for a partner, I'd welcome something altered.

Altered can be neat... I wouldn't mind getting an altered towel... and those altered spoons can be little works of art! But..... the flip side is that I would want something to my tastes so that could get tricky there. Either way, this should be fun, altered or not!

Profile checking would be nice but not necessary. An altered piece from a thriftstore is also okay. There are a lot of talented swappers that can do that nicely.

With this swap, I see it says 13months of thrift storing-is this monthly swap? I'm a newbie! I love thrifting,so this would be right up my alley!

I have pm' those newbies who have not filled out their profile enough. I like to give newbies a chance but will follow up on them. We have a lot of swappers interested and I would like it to be a success as my other swaps have been.

fallpetals: You can check a swappers profie to see if there is anything in there that you can get of interest or just pick up something you wouldn't mind getting from a swapper that you found cute or nice at a thriftstore. This should be a no stresser, have fun.

I am so excited for all of you. I so miss thirft stores in America. They do not get it here in Germany. The few they have are soooooo NOT thrifty! LOL

I'm new here as well as some of the others who have commented. Please let me know if you think I need to add more to my profile. It should be filled out enough, but if you have suggestions of other things, I'm open to hear them. This sounds like a fun swap to start in with and it's quick . . . just around the corner!

I stopped swapping for awhile because of my daughters medical attention but I am back and this sounds like sooo much fun!!! I have a great thift store so yay!

I have checked all newbies and have decided to eliminate a few that did not have profiles listed. I am hoping all will go well. 16have not sent as yet. Odds from 116 is good but very dissappointing as some have had 5 ratings and I didn't feel I had to check on them. There is another swap going up call Thriftstore Find. Amazing as i thought I may have inadvertently put one up early only to find it is an International one. Which is great for you all that like to send overseas etc. Please remember to rate, good or bad on your swappers. I did ban 4 swappers but a couple squeezed by me, sorry.

Six out of 116. Appreciate allyou that took the commitment to do this and did it. If you get flaked on please put that in the comment section of their profile as you rate a 1.. I cannot angel for all of them. Some swappers forget while others just like to receive, some also have problems sending they did not think they would have, those should contact you.

I really enjoyed my first time in a "thrift store swap", @ladydy5 I hope you'll be doing this again. I'll check your profile. I sent my partner an old box of notecards. The box didn't match the notecards, but it was a box, approx. 8x10 in size, from the 50's if I had to guess, maybe 60's. It had an assortment of all types and sizes of cards. Some were really old-fashioned. I had a hard time giving it away! But I knew my partner liked papercrafts, and she said that she did enjoy the box of cards. My partner sent me a small hinged flowered tin. It was made in Holland! She also sent a hearts print makeup bag, blue ribbon, lip gloss, a makeup sample, and it seems something else that I can't at the moment think of. It was a simple and sweet swap, and I really loved the simplicity of it. Thank you for hosting!
