Description:

A store bought postcard of your hometown (or town near your town if it's all you can get) You MUST write about yourself a little, what you like, dislike about where you live, what is cool, not so cool, etc. Be creative, make it worth the stamp you put on it. Send the postcard NAKED..(meaning not in an envelope) (you, should be clothed at the post office) Do NOT request for this to be sent in an envelope..this is not the swap for you if that's what you want for postcards. Any questions? Feel free to email, but seriously, not rocket science.. just send a postcard depicting the town or a town you live nearby. Yay! snail mail! I will Angel if necessary, but don't mess up. Newbies..welcome, BUT...watch the date by which you must send by...that seems to be the issue with many new folks on swap bot. You will click on the upper right to see who your partner is when I assign partners (which will be the day AFTER the swap signup is ended) (i'm on westcoast so if it doesn't happen right away for the eastcoast people, relax...i'll get to it!)

I thought a 'naked' postcard was a postcard sent in a envie unwritten????

susieq11 02/10/2011 #

Naked is written on and stamped!

germangirl65 02/10/2011 #

@Jazza ..I can see where the confusion comes in...that does make sense...but, in swapbot land naked means "sent like a traditional postcard", written on, stamped (so you can see the cool stamps) etc. It's always nice to get a little missive in the mail!

Eather way i like my postcards written on, it makes them more special. If i recived a blank postcard to me it no better than buying it from the shops myself.

I totally agree Jazza...I LOVE when people write all sorts of things on postcards, or draw a picture or just SOMETHING personal...hate getting stuff (well, that's a strong word, I do enjoy mail that isn't bills) that just has a "here ya go" type message and nothing more than that.....why bother? I'm hoping people will take the time to write something on the back of the postcard about themselves, about their day, a joke, a quote, SOMETHING... Thanks everyone for joining!

"you should be clothed at the post office" HAHAHAHHAHA!!!! Good advice!

FYI: Don't forget, the 20th is on a Sunday and the 21st is a national holiday in the USA. That means mailed by the 19th.

I just joined swap-bot today. I am loving the swap ideas here. I have joined in this one. It looks like lots of fun and I love where I live so it will be easy. I had to laugh when you said go clothed to the post office. Who would have thought you might have to explain. =) I'd love to see the postmaster's face if that ever happened.

germangirl65 02/13/2011 #

@Mamajoy thank you for clarifying..I think i'll just bump the date up a bit so that it won't be an issue...(might help if I look at my calendar once in awhile!

Ok...edited so that you can send thru the 22nd. I'm sure EVERYONE will send theirs BEFORE the 21st, but figured i'd change it anyways :) CAUSE NO ONE IS GOING TO FLAKE, RIGHT???? RIGHT!!!!!
