Here is a message I received that I think is a good idea so you may want to do this as well..

hi Nathalie, I'm in several Christmas card swaps, have received several cards already, and have learned to do the coolest thing. As I receive each card, I review the senders profile and write a few words describing that person on the inside of the card usually below the signature. The cards are then set out for display. When family and friends stop to admire them, they learn an interesting tidbit about the sender. It has brought great joy, as my folks meet my swapping family. Nathalie, I'm sure other swappers will be blessed by doing the same, and you will know how to share this idea better than I can.

I was wondering if this swap is international? If it is then partners will need to send their cards well before the swap date to ensure cards arrive in time for christmas.

I think we all will understand that if we are receiving from overseas it maybe late. But thanks for pointing that out. Maybe I should go ahead and change the date back and do it tomorrow.. I have noticed more people have signed up already.

I changed the date to Dec 3 to give overseas cards a few more days to travel. Please everyone keep in mind if your card is coming overseas it may be after Christmas before it arrives. So don't leave a bad rating until after Jan 4, I think that is enough time.

What a great idea to swap Christmas cards! I wasn't sure about signing up at first, but when I saw two neighbors (one in KC, MO and the other in Topeka) I decided it must be a sign (and not as in "here's your sign"... lol!). Anyway, I live right outside of Topeka in Berryton and will give the coordinator permission to share my address with anyone wanting to send extra cards to me. Thanks in advance!

Oh dear I'm not sure why the 16-988 is in such huge bold letters..

Today is December 3, the first day of our official swap and I noticed we have some over achievers in the group!!! They have already sent out their cards!!! Way to put the rest of us to shame! I'm addressing as fast as I can!!!

Way to go everyone that has already gotten theirs ready. I appreciate it and I am sure others will love getting their cards soon.

Well I sent my first batch of 5 cards today. This is my very first swap so I hope you all enjoy my creations! If I get my regular Christmas card list sent out this weekend I'll try to send to some of you who wanted extras.

I sent out the cards to the ones in the States Tuesday and the ones elsewhere today, so I have send my 5 and some extra ones. I have recieved a couple as well, so much fun. Thanks everyone.

No, the envelope thing is b/c in past years I have addressed envelopes and then discovered that I had the wrong address. This is the first year I have run out of cards -- it's also the first year that I've gotten my cards out in time for Christmas!

# What are stars and how do I give one to my swap coordinator?

The star system is slightly complicated, but it is a nice way to reward hard working, exceptional coordinators. When you open the rating window for each swap there is a Coordinator Star box at the top. In that box you can mark either that your coordinator deserves a star, or they do NOT deserve a star. Coordinators do not receive a star for every person who marks yes to the star option, instead they must receive stars from 75% of the rating participants in their swap. Meaning that of the people in the swap who give one of the two ratings for the coordinator, 75% must mark the positive option for a star to be received. If a participant does not rate at all they are not included in the equation. As the percentage of rating participants changes, a coordinator's star count may change.

At this time there is not a way for coordinators to view which swaps they have received stars for. You can only view the total number of stars a person has received on their profile page. We hope to improve the star system in the future.
