Coming from a textile design background, I've always been interested in what happens to imagery when it appears in multiples. In this swap, you'll need to print multiples of one image onto a postcard. You can print very small images that don't overlap, or bigger images that do overlap. You'll make one postcard for one partner. (No smaller than 4 inches by 5.5 inches.)
Send it without an envelope ("naked"). You can use any print making method you like, as long as the images used are produced by your own hand. (For instance, a hand-carved stamp is fine, a store-bought stamp is not.) The inspiration is "geometric." You can think of it as plain geometric shapes, like triangles, squares, and circles, or you can interpret it more creatively, if you like. Artist's choice. A very simple example that would fulfill the requirements is carving a stamp into a circle, and printing polka dots onto a 4 inch by 6 inch piece of card stock. Keep in mind, though, you can get way more complicated than that! Dazzle me! :P |
