This is number two in a series of page swaps I will be hosting with a nature-theme. When we finish, you should have enough pages to bind into a book. Of course, you are welcome to join at any time in the series! Please keep in mind that for this series I'm thinking more traditional or vintage botanical/animal images, rather than "cutesy" or scrapbooky interpretations. At the request of a fellow-swapper, the theme for this nature themed chunky page is "wildlife." Let's keep to the kind of animals that are likely to show up in your back yard, or out in the country, (mice, racoon, fox, bear, deer, etc.) as opposed to exotic animals. No birds/amphibians--that will be a later swap. Designing a page in this style is pretty basic. Layer your main image over "found" paper such as a sheet of music, a dictionary page, ledgers, the cover of a farmer's almanac, or vintage-looking scrapbook papers etc. Embellish your page with relatively realistic images, stamping, numbers/symbols, postage stamps or cancellation marks, text/found poetry etc. And don't forget to include a 3-D component to make your page "chunky." Finally, you should lightly decorate the back side of your page, and include your contact information. Future themes might include wildflowers, birds, butterflies and dragonflies, etc. If you have any topic suggestions, let me know! Make one 4X4" page for one partner |
