Welcome to the 12th edition of my Postcards in an Envelope Swap :-)

I'm doing this swap because I used to be a big fan of post crossing but sadly a couple of my postcards which were sent just as they are without an envelope never arrived which is both disappointing for the receiver as well as the sender. Our local post office said that they are often caught up in the mail sorting machines and to send them in an envelope instead so that's what I've decided to do with these swaps :-)

For this swap you will need to post 3 different NEW (not vintage) store bought (not handmade) postcards to 1 partner. Please Do Not write on the postcards :-)

To join you must have a fully filled out profile ( This means 3 categories or more and must include an About Me section.

Newbies Are Welcome

A single 1 or 3 is ok for this swap as we all run into swap problems from time to time but multiple 1's & 3's will be dropped. Please feel free to contact me if your profile doesn't meet the swap requirements :-)

I check every single profile prior to assigning members. If your profile doesn't meet the swap requirements or you've previously blocked me or vice versa you will be dropped from this swap.

This swap is SENDERS CHOICE ONLY :-) If you make requests to receive certain postcards you will be dropped from this swap.

It's a shame that another swapper has copied and pasted parts of my swap for their own. I don't mind people using the same swap ideas but AT LEAST have the courtesy to write it out yourself and not just copy & paste =(

Hello ButterflyDreams: I have been told, time & again. To be copied is the highest complement a person can pay you. What is a shame, when they do not even have the courtesy to give you credit.Or at least contact you & ask if you mind.Being copied by others has been a great experience for me. Only after I was told it was a form of a complement. Before that I would get very upset.Happy Swapping :)

Butterflydreams:My feelings exactly as I have been copied before but notified the swapper and she was gracious enough to redo hers.

Thanks for your comments =) I have no problems at all with people reusing swap ideas as no one has a unique swap idea but when they copy & paste text using the exact same grammar it's kind of like plagurism to me =(

ButterflyDreams, I just have a quick question...

Are we sending 3 postcards in 1 envelope OR are we sending 3 postcards with 3 envelopes??

ButterflyDreams 05/ 4/2011 #

Hi, it's 3 postcards in 1 envelope to 1 partner =)

akhilpreeti 05/ 6/2011 #

it is better that envelope is affixed with commemorative stamps, so that recipient is beneficent of some good International postal stamps.

ButterflyDreams 05/ 7/2011 #

Please use your cheapest postage method possible =)

Thanks for clearing that up for me... since I'm new, I just wanna make sure that I do the right thing. =D

I really hope I got the right kind... lol

I know this swap requires NEW (not vintage) postcards, but if you have any vintage postcards, I would be more than happy to receive them! I prefer them not written on, though.

If you orient the address "Portrait" rather than "Landscape" the post office cannot put the card through the machines. This requires first class postage with a 20 cent surcharge for handling, but I find it's worth it to make sure your stuff doesn't get put through the postal figure eight shredding machine. So, you'd have to put 64 cents on a postcard. This also applies to envelopes. I've also had envelopes shredded because of the machines so I pretty much always use this sideways technique, extra postage and I hand write "non-machinable" near the stamps.

Idon't like to take the chance of the machines tearing up stuff I send, so take my mail to the postoffice and let them do it.I found that any letter that cannot go through their 1/4 inch template it is an addition price. Get one from your postoffice as I did it was free so I can see if it meets that standard, if not I put more postage on it. Angie, please tell me what you mean by "orient portrait rather than landscape?
