Description:

I love inchies and I wanted to create a swap for inchie lovers that would have a really different theme each time, and that would be easy to complete and light on postage. This will be a part of an ongoing series of inchie swaps...

For this swap, you will make 4 inchies for one partner, with a weather theme--any sort of weather: rain, snow, wind, lightning, clouds, sunshine, etc. You can use any media that you like, but please send your best work--you may use stickers, but please use them artistically, and keep with the theme. I am requiring a 4.5 rating to be able to join this swap; please explain recent 3's before joining and no recent 1's.

Upcoming themes I'm thinking about are: 4 seasons, elements, metal, embellishments, one word, etc...

F.Y.I. An inchie is a miniature work of art. An inchie measures exactly one inch square and is made of a sturdy paper backing, or it can be made of fabric. Inchies are decorated with a variety of media, including paint, paper, drawing, collage, mixed media, rubber stamps, sewing, etc. If you think that inchies are too small to make creatively, you are wrong! There are many itty bitty things on the market that are perfect for making inchies: scrapbooking paper with small prints, thin ribbon, tiny brads, little rubber stamps, stick-on rhinestones, etc. They are totally addicting once you start!

P.S...This swap is an Type 3 because there is a craft element...

What is a good way to get my feet wet and establish a swapping history? I would love to be able to join in on some niche swaps!

@LENORE it would be good to check swaps that allow newbies--if you go to "Find Swaps" (in the blue box near the top of the page) then click "Newbies" in the drop down menu, I'm sure you will find some.....the best way to get a swapping history is to just join and complete swaps, especially the Type 3 kind, since it means you have actually done swaps with an art element and other swappers are more willing to 'trust' you.....

Some hosts are reluctant to allow newbies, since they have been known to flake, or submit sub-par work....

I want to do the 4 seasons one.

How about hand drawn inchies...random drawings?

@LENORE filling out your profile helps a lot! There are senior members who are willing to do private swaps with newbies to help them out. Good luck! Inchies are a lot of fun!

@craftygal87 I'll do the four seasons one next--maybe I will post it tomorrow. As for the hand-drawn inchies, I had the idea to do it, as I may have listed in the first two, but someone else beat me to it!!! So I may wait a little bit before I host a hand-drawn swap....
