I love religious christian art. Especially the old prints like those that hung in the Sunday School room when I was a little girl. I also love matchboxes and had such a good time hosting my shabby chic matchbox swap I wanted to do it again :0) The swap will be for one regular - 32 count matchbox decorated in a religious christian theme. I am not trying to exclude anyone, but if Christianity is not your belief or you are offended by this type of art then this is not the swap for you. Feel free to start a swap based on your own religious belief, I will not object. This swap is open to INTERNATIONAL swappers, as matchboxes aren't too costly to ship. Swappers will need a rating of 4.8 or better to participate. I am setting the send by date in the future a bit since we're all busy with the holidays - so newbies you have time to pump up your ratings and participate too! Please put your best effort into this one - there are lots of great images out there and I can envision several beautiful boxes. Fill the boxes with whatever you see fit - bits of ribbon, some beads, charms, stickers whatever you think your partner would enjoy - I personally have some wonderful religious icon charms I got on Etsy that I'm going to share with my swap buddy. Maybe include an inspirational saying or your favorite bible verse :0) Any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. If absolutely necessary I will angel but I'm sure all the stellar swappers out there will follow through. Most of all HAVE FUN! :0)

CelestialFreak - feel free to make an ATC swap - I'd love to see what you come up with. I havent gotten into making the ATC's yet - I'm afraid of uncovering another obsession! :0)

Nanamint - great question - I'll edit the swap info - fill it with bits and pieces of whatever you want. I have some wonderful charms I got on Etsy that I intend to include (a couple of them anyway - i'm kinda stingy with them, lol) Beads, an inspirational saying, whatever strikes your fancy.

I was asked where one might find some examples of religious art - here are a couple of websites i found. I also found some great "prayer cards" at my local Christian bookstore.

Would I be able to pick a theme say Creation and decorate the box and then include items such as animals, celestial, and things related to Creation? This way I could use ribbon, charms, beads, etc. relating to that theme and not try to think overly abstract, KWIM?

We need to promote this swap and maybe add some comments on themes such as: Creation Garden for Adam & Eve Noah's Ark Angels- pretty easy being Christmas time

Think miniature animals, nice stickers, beads(I saw nice glass fish at Big Lots & Tuesday Morning), eyelets/brads, fiber in coordinating colors, vellum quotes, etc.

Great idea mommie2angels. I wasn't sure how to go about letting others know about the swap other than let them stumble across it. I'm sure there are many other swappers who will appreciate this theme. Anyone have suggestions?
