This swap will be for hand made charms using clothing buttons -2 or 4 holes but only in whites, pearls and creams. You may use any color metal finding (gold, silver, bronze etc) Use more than one button to make your charms. ( this way if when we are each done, we can fill our own bracelets etc with easy to make charms using single buttons and the special ones you make will stand out!) I have seen charms made from buttons in high end boutiques and on line and thought... Oh i can make those... ( i am sure you have too) You can stack buttons of same or different sizes ( don't go too big..think bracelet) or connect them together in differnt ways... play around a bit before you connect your buttons together.! (I have found dental floss to be a great thread for this) Be sure to add a jump ring or loop as a way to attatch your charms. Since this swap is open to any metallic finding color, you may accent your white buttons using metallic additions..but keep the buttons in the white family. This swap is going to take more than just a single stamp to mail and most of us will use a padded envelope anyway..so I am make this a swap of 3 charms to each partner... and each of us will have 5 partners. So you will make a total of 15 charms. Really once you start with charms its hard to stop. I feel pretty comfortable in asking this since white and white-ish buttons are found just about in every drawer. If you don't have them in a jar... ask a friend! |
