Description:

This is a fun project making canvases from boxes. A special thank you to @Leashah for posting it in the forums a few weeks ago.

For this swap, you will make one box canvas, paint and/or decorate it, and mail it to, your one partner. I made the box canvases with my 4 and 7 year old family, where we used a macaroni box and a lipton soup box and they were easy and fun for the kids and for me.

Here is a tutorial:

soap box canvas

You can use any size box you would like. As a tip, I stuffed mine loosely with scrap paper/newspaper/paper towel on the inside before taping it up just for a little more stability. We tried each of the different stuffings and they all worked well. You can paint it, collage it, alter it to your hearts content. Please do make something nice for your partner, made with quality and care.

This is the USA version.

I am soooo looking forward to this swap! I have started my box canvas using a margarine box. I've got it covered and some background started, but will try to wait for partners to be assigned before I decide what the theme of my canvas will be. Actually, I think I will be preparing box canvases as often as I can get appropriate boxes, so I am not sure what kind of box my partner will be getting this time.

I know what you mean...I'm now saving small boxes also.

YAY....!!!! Time to swap. I had been refreshing over and over since morning, so I could get my partner and look on their profile to see what type of things they like, so I can work on my canvas. :)

I'll be mailing mine this morning. I had so much fun finishing it up, off and on all day yesterday and last night. I'll have photos up on my Flickr in a little while is anyone wants to look. The link is on my profile. Thanks for hosting this great swap, wolfeagle. :)
