ATC Ephemera Baggies

Well, I have a question. It might be my bad English or maybe we don't have anything like that here ... but what's a ziplock bag? :)

oh! interesting. :) how big is a "standard" bag like that?

Measurements on a ziploc bag are: 6 1/2inches by 5 7/8 inches, if that helps.

I assume with this swap we won't do 'kid junk' like foam pieces, glitter, etc...? I love these type of swaps but sometimes I just get a back of kid stuff. And sometimes I get gorgeous vintagey stuff which I love!

I agree with those who like vintage, non-cutesy kiddo stuff.

No, please don't send any foam stickers, glitter, kid stuff, etc. That's not what I created this swap for. It's adult collage junkies like me. LOL. Game pieces are ok, though, like scrabble tiles, etc. jigsaw pieces, you know. But I hate those foam stickers and glitter ... oh, and if you're gonna do CONFETTI, could you put that in a separate bag inside the bag of ephemera? I hate when it spills all over the place. :(

how do people feel about old funky beads or old costume jewelry? what about "found" objects... sort of random type things?

Since I've been having trouble finding half way decent old jewelry beads, etc. I'd personally love that sort of thing. I also don't want childish or cutsie stuff (NO PRECIOUS MOMENTS!!!!!!!!!!!!! AARRRGGHHHHH).

well, i have my 3 bags done and ready to go and after reading your comments i think i've done well....i agree with all of you .... no glitter or cutsie for me either!

I join you and also give my swap partners some input for the baggies. I like vintage and patterned paper, old / vintage photos, pictures, game cards, tickets, any kinds of ribbons, pressed flowers, birds and nests, fairies and words.

I sometimes think that I'm the only person on swap-bot who doesn't like vintage stuff. I do like bright colors and also game pieces. I also like decorative paper, but would be stoked to get anything!!

I do not expect vintage ephemera (but it would be greatly appreciated!), however count me in with those who would like to avoid "kawaii" at all costs. I like cute, but not the Hello Kitty cute, or the "girly" look. Womanly suits me much better. And womanly can be cute and still mature. Right?

I love all kinds of vintage including beads and jewelry, photos, letters, book pages, etc. Love Fonts and text. But lately I've been looking at the digital and pop culture magazines/photos and they have some cool stuff. Love transfers and transparencies. 3-D items such as game pieces, puzzles and even children games and cards. But not cutesie either, please. Pop-up is fun! Junk is good. I love all kind of vintage and heritage stuff! Old pictures,vintageladies pictures, vintage ads photos, old postcards,3-D embellishments, neutral color fibers or ribbon, button and lace!! LOVE LACE!! Don't like anything cutesie either!! THANKS!!

I like weird, wacky and wild. I like weird circus! I like day of the dead, I like weird stamp images, cancelled postage stamps, goblins and gnomes.

I also like vintage ephemera, you know old letters, receipts, bills etc.

i like vintage, game pieces, dark, gothic, scrabble tiles, typerwriter keys, charms, stamp images (wierd, zettiology, quotes, art sayings, insects, women, bacgrounds, paper dolls), fibers, images, metal pieces, watch pieces, buttoms, puzzle pieces, stuff like that. I'm not picky though. :) Just NO CUTESY!!!!!!Please.

Confused. I read the ratings section but I don't see anything pop up to rate them like it says, and my partners I sent to are not the same as those sent to me. a week after the deadline for send out you have to check back here and there will be a little link (under the as a member of this swap you can...)to rate your partners. there it will have their names and the screen name as well as a little place to add a comment. hope this helps a little :)

Thanks Fairy Kiss. That helps. It would be better if it was a week after the sign-up date. I'm worried I'll forget to check back and rate people unless I leave messages in here. I get tons of mail art packages, and waiting an additional three weeks after receiving the items seems a pain in the butt. Well, at least now that I understand that I will make my sign-up and send-out dates closer so people who are uber-busy like me don't forget to rate each other.

so far i have received two of my baggies. the one from lora in illinois i received earlier this week and i've already made two ATC's from the things i got and i used one item on an anniversary card for my hubby!

the second one from beth in washington just came in the mail this afternoon and my daughter is ooohing and awing over everything. she's three and she just said wow, so texturey! LOL!!! now she's trying to get all of the bingo pieces out of the bag... fun for the whole family! i love that you wrapped the whole thing in a page from a pattern... very creative!!!

i am awed and inspired by the things that i have received so far! i can't wait to get to work!!! this was a great swap, now i have little pieces of things that i would never have even thought of. a big thanks to Noell for hosting this swap.

I've received all three of mine and two of them were wonderful and perfect (thank you), however, the third one was a disappointment, I could have still put a sandwich in the baggie and had left over room in it. Maybe they just didn't understand the swap or didn't look at the example photo above here.

ljcrowefamily, if you will look at the 16th of OCT in this comment list, you will see I mailed all 3 of mine on that day. When I don't receive a comment from my partner, I email them and that is what I did with you. I was waiting for the final response from you about whether you received it or not. When I didn't hear from you, I assumed you had received it.
