Description:

Did you know that October 6th was National Noodle Day?

Wikipedia defines a noodle this way: “A noodle is a thin strip of pasta, usually cut or extruded from some kind of dough. It is the basic unit in dishes like spaghetti, linguine, soba, and udon. The term often refers to moist, cooked pasta, since it has connotations of curviness and slipperiness, but also to dried noodles that must be reconstituted by boiling or soaking in water.”

Sooo....now that I have clarified what a noodle is...LET'S GET SWAPPING!

Please package your noodles carefully so they don't get broken

You should send ONE partner ONE pack of noodles (or more...it's up to you!) so I will ask everyone participating in this swap to PLEASE put your noodle preference in your profile during the duration of this swap. Or list it in the comment section of the swap.

This swap is international so you may get some really cool noodles! I love trying new foods!

Have fun!!

Oh...Newbies are welcome...PLEASE NO FLAKING!!

rachelcdoyle 08/24/2011 #

I'm tempted to sign up but can you ask people to ship in a box rather than an envelope so the noodles don't get broken up? :)

Babytreese 08/24/2011 #

Hi rachelcdoyle, I would hope that Swap-Botters would know better but I will edit the swap.

charophyta 08/24/2011 #

That's a cute picture! Did you take the photo? :D

CometaGuavaberry 08/25/2011 #

This is interesting, as we mexicans like spicy and chilli food we have many flavours with chilli.

I´ll watch, because many things that are in USA are imported here, so many brands are the same, and i would prefer to try something new.

Babytreese 08/25/2011 #

Thanks for the comments guys! and @charophyta no...I did not take the photo...found it online and thought it was perfect! @CometaGuavaberry I hope you join the swap!!

What a great idea !!!
. I think this is going to be such a fun swap. We love noodles (aka pasta). It's so easy to come in from a days work and add some type of a sauce to cooked noodles/pasta and throw a salad together to have for diner. This will be interesting to see what we receive from our swap partner.
. I have a wonderful Beef Stroganoff recipe (made in your crock pot) if anyone is interested. . (Laurita)

Yum! Sounds delicious Laurita!! Thanks for your comment and I do want that recipe! ;=)

I've just discovered noodles since last week. And I'm starting to like it more, so I'm curious about what flavours there are in other countries. Here in Holland there are 6 or 7 flavours. I don't like fish, or spicy flavours. What I've read about different flavours, what I would like to try someday: cheese, beef, chicken (I like it here too), tomato.

Babytreese 08/30/2011 #

Hey ibrilman! Thanks so much for sharing the noodle info from Holland! How interesting! Beef & Chicken are popular noodle flavors here in America. Thanks again! ;=)

gypseyraven 08/30/2011 #

does it have to be ramen or any kind of pasta?

Babytreese 08/30/2011 #

Hi gypseyraven- no specifics were mentioned...just pasta (noodles)

Babytreese 09/ 5/2011 #

I went home to MD this Labor Day weekend so I made a special trip to an Asian market near my home. There were two aisles with nothing but noodles! ;-) it was so hard to choose! Thanks for all the comments!

Sha2ronS 09/ 6/2011 #

Sha2ronS 09/ 8/2011 #

Laurita, I also would love your beef stroganoff recipe, :)

Laurita 09/12/2011 #

Okay everyone...here's the recipe for the easy BEEF STROGANOFF (made in your crockpot). You only need 4 ingredients (1 pound beef stew meat, 1 package (dry) Lipton Onion Soup Mix, 1 can cream of mushroom soup (do not add water or milk), and 1 small can mushrooms with liquid (pieces and stems is fine). Put the raw stew meat, dry onion soup mix, can of cream of mushroom soup, and can of mushroom pieces/stems into your crock pot. Mix with a spoon, turn heat to low and cook covered for 8 hours (I stir it maybe twice during the 8 hours of cooking). Before ready to serve you will need to prepare your noodles on your stove top, (any type of noodle will work, however I prefer the wide egg noodles), follow the package cooking directions to prepare the noodles. After cooking the noodles, rinse, then spoon your serving portion of noodles into a bowl or onto your plate and ladle your desired amount of beef stroganoff on top of the noodles. Serve a tossed garden salad and green beans along with the stroganoff if you like. Yummy meal!

Laurita 09/12/2011 #

My package has been mailed! Can't wait to receive mine!

Babytreese 09/13/2011 #

Thanks so much Laura!!

Sha2ronS 09/26/2011 #
