WOO HOO ... SUPER BOWL SUNDAY (GO KANSAS CITY!) AND TOO, I JUST HIT MY 1,000th SWAP! (2/11/24) 🌹🌹🌹
PLEASE NOTE: If I mark a swap as being sent and that day has no mail delivery, it's because I put it in a USPS box by our mail room (which is just down the hall from me).
If it's not in the box by the time the mail comes, it doesn't get picked up till the next day so when I put a letter in the box in the evening or on the weekend and it shows marked as being sent on a Sunday or the prior day is marked sent and the postmark shows the following day, this is why ...
I mark sent as soon it goes into our USPS box because I'm afraid if I didn't, that I'd totally forget and wouldn't mark it sent at all. Old age? Perhaps! lol
PLEASE ALSO NOTE:
For at least the past 6 months (and probably longer than that too but I didn't check as carefully as I do now) ... I seem to end up with quite a few people who do not feel it's important to rate the swaps and then I have to message them and then HOPE that they'll rate me. There have been some who have not even after I messaged them.
If this keeps up, I am tired of having to write and ask (beg?) for a rating and after a certain period of time, I'm just going to start listing non-raters on my profile. There's a rating system for a reason and I thought it was a requirement to do so.
At the same time, any non-raters who do get listed will not be eligible to join my swaps. If I do get them as a partner in a swap that I join then all I can do is hope that they'll rate me and if they do, then I'll remove their name from the non-raters list. I hate to do it but being rated is important to me and I imagine it is to the person who isn't rating but only if they don't get rated themselves I think is when they care about it - not when they won't rate others swaps.
Hi! My name is Debi and am a 68 year old Christian woman and I would love to hear from anyone who was born on that exact same day, which is May 8, 1956. I've looked for years but as of yet have not found anyone on that exact day.
A bit about me, I'm divorced, have 2 kids who are grown and on their own and also have 7 grand-kids and am a GREAT-Grandma to Jax and Kayden, Aimee (age 4) and baby Madilynn was born @ 12:06 a.m., Oct. 25, 2018. Also in August of 2022, I got 2 more great-greatchildren ... Jerime Levi was born the first week in August (my grandson, Levi's baby) and the 3rd week, Levi's sister, Lacey had her baby and the baby's name is Lilly.
Update: As for September 15, 2023 I now have 7 great-grandchildren. My granddaughter Lacey had a baby girl named Delainie Sage. 😀
Besides my kids and grand-kids, I have a very spoiled cat named Kyla, who turned 11 on July 22nd (2021) - Yep, that]'s her in the picture below!
[Update: I had to have Kyla put to sleep on Friday, April 28th, 2023 and can tell you that it was the hardest thing I have EVER had to do.] At this time [5/3/2023], I am still feeling heartbroken and lost without her here but do know that eventually I'll be okay again. For now though, it isn't easy. 😢
Postcards [or pictures] of carousels
I would love to be able to get a postcard from a plantation house from the south. I fell in love with Tara when I read and then watched "Gone With the Wind" and would love postcards from that type of house - the white pillars and well, a plantation house.
Thanks so much for taking the time to read this!
Dislikes:
Anything with skulls
Anything dark or evil
No adult themes
I absolutely hate swearing so please, if you read this before you send a swap to me, PLEASE leave out the swear words. I can guarantee that if they are in a swap and sent to me, you will NOT get a heart.
Terrible handwriting to the point that I have to struggle to read the letter and a good part of the time, I can't make it all out no matter how hard I try. VERY frustrating!
NON-RATERS
I have put off doing this for a VERY long time but finally it's come to the point that some people just ignore your messages asking them to rate you and well, I've had enough.
I ALWAYS contact the person BEFORE posting here for not rating me for a swap. No answer, No rating = Welcome to MY HALL OF SHAME! (I mean, seriously ... it takes what? Like 2 to 3 minutes at the most to rate someone?!)

HAHAHA "welcome to my hall of shame" omg girl that line cracked me up...so glad I was not drinking my coffee as it would have shot directly on to my computer screen. You are funny. lol xxxx Hugs Di (octobereve930)
I totally agree with you about people not rating. One reason I mostly try not to do internationl swaps is because I never know how long it will take for something to reach another country. However, with USA swaps--I think it's both bad manners and really a major fault.

Hello Debi!!
Oh my…. I’m having the same issue with not getting rated!! It’s hard to have to message everyone!! Thanks for hosting good safe swaps!! I’ll have to see if I have a “plantation” house. There is a place here in WV that has a huge mansion….it’s called Blennerhasset Island!! I did have some postcards at one time… I’ll definitely look!! Well, I enjoyed visiting and reading your profile!! I look forward to some more of your swaps!! Until then, take care!!

EL ROI [el-roh-ee]: "God of Seeing" (Genesis 16:13) – the name ascribed to God by Hagar, alone and desperate in the wilderness after being driven out by Sarah (Genesis 16:1-14). She realized that El Roi saw her in her distress and testified that He is a God who lives and sees all.
And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Matthew 10:30

Before I became a Christian, I had a terrible problem with forgiving people for even the slightest infraction. AGOCF-Bible Quotes #1- Today I say "Forgiveness is setting the prisoner free, only to find out that the prisoner was me." Matthew 6:14 For if you FORGIVE other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also FORGIVE you.

Quick and Easy Profile Message Swap-- Hello Debi, It was interesting to read you live in Titusville. My grandmother's sister lived there here entire adult life and my grandmother also lived there with her on and off at times. I remember seeing the photos and hearing the stories about life there. I liked hearing about the Amish they would see from time to time. I hope you have a lovely New Year's 2018!!!!
