I am a 57 year old woman, originally from the USA, but I've lived in the UK since 2002 and love it. I became a citizen of the UK back in 2011, so I now hold dual citizenship.

Most of my time in the UK was spent in Cheshire, but two years ago I moved south to Cambridge. I basically got rid of 90% of what I owned and started over in a new part of the country. :)

My university degree was in Acting, and I did loads of acting and directing back when I lived in the USA. My last job before I moved to the UK was as the Artistic Director of a professional touring children’s theatre. I now work as a Corporate Information Officer at a mental health trust.

I have been providing admin support for a band I adore for the past three years (which was the reason for the move south) and music has become my favourite thing. I started singing a few years ago, and during lockdown I have taken up the ukulele. I took part in my first online songwriting retreat last month and loved the process of writing music.

My family is all back in the USA. I have my dad, two brothers and one sister, all younger than me. They are all married with children, and my oldest niece now has two children of her own! I love going back to catch up with all my nieces and nephews.

I am addicted to books. It was the most difficult thing when I moved - deciding which few books I was going to keep and bring with me. I couldn't take them all as I was leaving a flat I had to myself and taking up residence as a lodger in a single room.

BOOKS I read most anything except science fiction. I particularly love history, biographies, and a bit of chick lit. Bill Bryson, Alison Weir, Tom Holland, Nora Roberts, Gail Eastwood, Jane Austen, Michael Connelly, Nancy Warren, Ted Tayler, Patrick O'Brien are among my favourite authors. LM Montgomery is always welcome - Emily and Anne are two of my favourite literary playmates to spend time with.

I also love fountain pens, my Filofaxes, stationery, cricket and rugby. A couple of years ago I started to make jewellery, which I really enjoy. All of my supplies are still boxed up, however.

In the past two years my hair has been pink, purple, blue, green and yellow - so many more colours to try! [grin]

I love postcards of your favourite places or things, - I am happy with either single or multiview cards, and I'm a sucker for pictures of furry critters [laugh]. I prefer postcards to be sent naked, stamped, with a message from you about yourself, or what the image on the PC means to you.
