About me personally, Well. my name is Crystal and I am a 46 year old empty nester. I have 2 amazing sons, who are 24 and 21.
I live in Oregon, transplanted from California. I have been out on a medical disability for about a year, which is part of the reason for the move to Oregon, but also, my youngest son kason flew the coop and I was left with just ME! When your baby leaves it really hits you, that although you are still a mom, you now are YOU, and for 24 years of my life, I was always Keegans mom, or Kaysons mom and now I am Crystal. So, it leaves you to try and figure out who you are now!
So, my sister also had just become and empty nester and she too, was just HER, and seeing that California is so expensive, and I need to learn who I am, I thought, well WHY NOT! So, here I am!
My oldest son Keegan is still in California and lives with is Fiance! He just asked her to marry him a couple months ago and I couldnt be more excited as I just love her to death! So, wedding plans are happening for a June 9th, 2019 wedding!!
My baby, my youngest son, Kayson, lives in Vegas with his beautiful girlfriend. He moved to Vegas about 7 months ago, (Again, California is TOO expensive) and he is enjoying learning all about Vegas, the girlfriend, well she just happened to be a very pleasant surprise, and theis mama couldnt be happier for my baby!
So, thankfully I found Swap-bot, as my sister works a FT job so, I am home alone alot. I needed something to fill in the long days so not to become a crazy cat lady, as when I moved here she had 4 cats, 1- Trixie, decided that I was hers. So, Swap-bot has allowed me to get my creative juices flowing again, sorry, they are a bit rusty, but I am working on it! Then also, to find pen pals! I had pen pals growing up in grade school, and loved it and I am so excited that there is a place now to find some!
I am so looking forward to getting to know new people from different places and learn all sorts of new things!
My absolute favorite music is country. But as my son says I have music ADD, as I really listen to many genres. 😁 80's pop, Rap, Alternative. Pop Punk (thanks to my son) I like some new pop music Favorites: Cole Swindell Kane Brown Luke Bryan Sam Hunt Carly Pearce Daughtry Nickelback Jana Kramer X Ambassadors Train The Chainsmokers RaeLynn Imagine Dragons 21 Pilots
See, musical ADD. My music tastes each month are based on my life at the time. Lyrics are what get me, no matter the genre of music.
I love to read, due to medical issues I havent been reading as often as I like. I love Nicholas Sparks and have read The Notebook, literally atleast100 times! My ABSOLUTE favorite is by J. Raymond- Spades. He wrote a series of poems called "Let her Run" and it was like he was living in a woman's head. There is also R.H. Shin, Ian S. Thomas.... Since my medical issues started I have to read short things, so I have found the poems are perfect and I also am pretty addicted to People Magazine and US Magazine. LOVE following the Will and Kate and now Harry and Meghan.
This is kinda different, but literally Hallmark movies! It drives my son insane because I'm always watching them, but they are just so good... “My point is, it takes a special person to cry over a book. It shows compassion as well as imagination...Don't ever lose that” ― Alex Gino, George

Book Quote - August
“Over time, Xan had started making certain preparations - a blanket woven of the softest lamb’s wool to wrap the child and keep it warm, a stack of cloths to freshen a wet bottom, a bottle or two of goat’s milk to fill an empty tummy. When the goat’s milk ran out (as it invariably did - the trek was long, and milk is heavy), Xan did what any sensible witch would do: once it was dark enough to see the stars, she reached up one hand and gathered starlight in her fingers, like the silken threads of spider’s webs, and fed it to the child. Starlight, as every witch knows, is marvelous food for a growing infant. Starlight collection takes a certain knack and talent (magic, for starters), but children eat it with gusto. They grow fat and sated and shining.”

Book Quote August:
Love is about being vulnerable. It's about doing things that scare you. Like giving your heart to someone after a few weeks or a few days. When you find the right person, time stops.
It's one of my favourite novels about love and finding happiness.
I forgot to mention that my quote was from the "Book Quote- August Swap.
“Some of us worry, though, about living a life that’s so grounded on handouts. Idleness leads to trouble. We’re seeing more alcohol. Our kids are using more drugs.”
The whistler by John Grisham
Great book about corruption definitely a page turner.
