I am an eclectic artist living off the grid in Far West Texas. I love history and antiques. I actually collect pre-1900 handwritten letters and business receipts. Many of these treasures live with me for awhile and then find their way into my art. Since I am a history buff, anything Victorian or Steampunk makes me happy.
BEATLES GIRL HERE...I grew up in the 60's and love good rock and roll. I also still get happy when I hear silly Bubble Gum rock from the late 60's and early 70's ... Bobby Sherman, The Monkees, 1910 Fruit Gum Company, etc. I enjoy Indie Rock and some popular music - M.Ward, She and Him, The Avit Bros, that kind of music. And then there is my absolute love of Gregorian Chant - particularly for women's voices. Oh, and well...Opera Sort of all over the place
I am pretty easy to please..... I am in love with washi tape and bits of laces. Non childish stickers are also favorites. ANY THING WITH A BIRD ON IT - I am doing lots of correspondence and pocket letters - have lots of uses for these little treasures. Speaking of little treasures...I love anything miniature. I make a lot of alters around my home and studio to inspire me in my artwork and life.
I REALLY REALLY DISLIKE ZOMBIES. .Please, do not send me Walking a Dead stuff or anything horror related. No Twilight, True Blood, etc. I also do not like Precious Moments and those children with the big eyes. I am not a Christian, so I would prefer to leave those kinds of items for folks who might appreciate them more. Since my son is grown, I am not really a fan of Disney and other children's cartoons.
Absolute favorite color is true Aqua. That lovely dreamy sea foamy color. And I love it paired with any other color. Yellow is a happy second. As an artist, I can fall in love with any color and do regularly.
ALL OF THEM As a working artist, I mostly work in water colors and mixed media right now. My style is to learn how to use a new medium and then throw the rule book aside. My watercolor are bold and vibrant and sometimes look like oils. My oil work can be thin and ethereal or mixed up with other mediums.
