Papercrafting is my main interest. I have so many supplies, I just converted a bedroom into a craft room. And I would love to share and swap!
I have been scrapbooking ever since I can remember. While going thru some boxes recently, I found a scrapbook I made for a school history project when I was 10yrs old!
I also do a lot of card making. Each year, I hand make at least 50 Christmas cards, in five or six different styles, to mail out to friends and family.
In June 2019, I was simultaneously making 60 baby shower invites w/RSVP cards for my sister, 50th birthday invites for a co-worker, and 100 save the date wedding cards for my niece.
Interactive cards are my favorite, especially shaker and shadow box cards.
Within the last couple of years I have gotten into art journaling and junk journals. I follow Dyan Reaveley and Dina Wakley because I love their funky styles. I have also gotten into the grungy steampunk look, so I have a lot of Tim Holtz stuff too.
I do some stamping, but mostly to accent my cards or journals.
I grew up going to Star Wars with my dad, and still love the original movies to this day. For some reason, I have always identified with the bad guys, so my desk at work in covered in Darth Vadar, Stormtroopers, and Bobba Fett toys.
I love animated movies and the Incredibles is my favorite. I also like the Despicable Me movies, Monsters Inc, Zootopia, Up, and Who Framed Roger Rabbit.
I like to watch scary movies that are suspenseful, but not super gory. Old school horror like the Exorist, Poltergeist, Carrie, the Shining, and the Omen get me every time. Recently I have been watching the Conjuring series.
I have lived in Illinois my whole life, first in the Chicago suburbs and now Springfield. I have been with my civil union partner Kari since college. Last year, we bought a new house as our 25 year anniversary present! Kari's family lives close, so we spend a lot of time with her brother, niece, and nephew. I love to cook, bake, and make candy. I am famous for pecan clusters I make with homemade caramel!
I watch a lot of shows on the Science, Travel, and History Channels. I like Expedition Unknown, America Unearthed, Mysteries of the Abandoned, Food Paradise, Legendary Locations, and What on Earth. Josh Gates cracks me up with his mixture of humor and enthusiasm.
I like funny shows about crazy family life like Married with Children, Shameless, Malcolm in the Middle, the Simpsons, and Single Parents.
I also like reality shows about the outdoors, especially Alaska, like The Last Alaskans, Life Below Zero, Alaska-the Last Frontier, and Mountain Men. Sue Aikens at the Kavik River Camp is the TV personality I would most like to meet.
I have always liked kitschy shows about the paranormal. First there was Buffy the Vampire Slayer, then Charmed, and now Supernatural. Now that Supernatural will be having it's last season, I guess I will have to find a new show...
