Merry Meet! I’m Joy! I celebrated the 28th anniversary of my 30th birthday this year and have been crafting since childhood. Though my sister tends to be more creative than I am (I swear the woman can make anything out of nothing) I'm not too shabby myself.

I am married to a wonderful guy that supports everything I do. I have 2 grown children and two grandsons . We have a small farm in North Carolina on top of a mountain in the middle of nowhere. I LOVE IT!! My husband likes to say that I celebrate my decrepitude while enjoying my hermitism. I have also lived in New Jersey, Florida, Arizona and Atlanta. I am currently working as a personal assistant.

I have a small business where I sell some of my crafts at Festivals, but mostly I do stuff just to do it. I have never met a craft I haven’t liked! I’ll try any of them once and a hundred times if I like it!

I love 80’s music as well as 70’s and OMG Disco. Journey, Kansas, Fleetwood Mac, you get the drift!! I’m also a big fan of a Celtic band from Georgia named Emerald Rose. I try to see them perform every chance I get.

I’m a big fan of Laurel K Hamilton especially the Merry Gentry series. Marion Zimmer Bradley, John Grishom, Tom Dietz, Charles DeLint, Neil Gaiman.

Hocus Pocus, Practical Magic, The Craft, Eragon, almost any Medieval or fantasy movie.

Criminal Minds, House, Law and Order SVU and Harry's Law (gotta LOVE Kathy Bates). I’m addicted to HGTV, DIY and The Food Network (I love to cook). I also watch the History Channels, Discovery Channels and TLC, SciFi and Chiller.

Can’t say that I have a favorite. I do almost everything. We have an entire room in the house with nothing but craft supplies. At least when I want to try something I usually have the materials already. I just recently relearned to knit…I’m not great at it but I can do it!

I LOVE purple, just about anything purple. A friend of mine says I’m the queen of STPS (Screaming Tacky Purple Shit) I even used to have a purple car!!! Color combos and shades of blue/purple/mauve, almost any of the cool/water type colors are great with the exception of green. I like dragons, witches, wizards, faeries, not too big on unicorns though. I follow an Earth Based Religion so that may have something to do with it!!! I’m a coffee addict, and LOVE chocolate. In fact in our house there are only 3 food groups: Chocolate, Cheese and Garlic. Everything else is just there to compliment those groups! I like Celtic knot work items. Overall I'm not picky as long as everything is created with positive energy!

As I already said I’m not big on unicorns or Disney stuff. Green or orange are NOT my favorite colors but I can take them in small doses. I do not like neon colors of any sort.
