Hello! My name is Kate! I'm super excited to have found Swapbot and am looking forward to sending and receiving mail with new snailmail friends!

I am married to my best friend (we first met each other when we were in junior high!!) and we have two wonderful sons. I spend a lot of my time attending their sporting events...football, basketball, baseball and track! I'm about to send my oldest off to college! I am looking forward to sending him LOTS of snail mail!!

We live in a tiny town in rural Iowa. (If I send you a postcard it will literally be from the middle of nowhere!) I love it, however, it has been a wonderful place to raise a family!! I have a cornfield for my backyard and when I walk my chocolate Lab, Lexi, we frequently pass by cows, pigs, horses, sheep and other creatures!

I am a labor and delivery nurse. I love it! I've calculated that I've been present for over 3000 births in my career! I love being part of this special moment in a family's life. It never gets old or boring going to work and BOY! do I have some stories to tell!

I started snailmailing as a way to send happiness and love to my friends and family. I love being surprised by a good mail day and know that others do, too! I can't wait to send some mail to you! I have a fun blog called Mrs. Murphy's Mailbox Magic in which I chronicle my snail mail adventures!

LIKES: Envelopes, Pens & colored pencils, Snailmail themed rubber stamps, postage stamps (cancelled, new, international), washi tape, doodling and doodle how-to books, Alphabet (stamps and punches, etc) I especially love "Abecedary" Lists! sealing wax, vintage postcards, old photographs of people, typography, PUNS! quotes and words, collage, books Old movies recipes tea and coffee and chatty letters! I love most colors but am partial to yellow and pink. I like fun patterns, too like polka dots and checkerboards. I appreciate all snail mail and am grateul for anything I receive. I look forward to meeting people via post and learning about your part of the world!!

DISLIKES: I don't have pierced ears (and don't wear too much jewelry), Glitter, Clowns, Dolls Characters (like Disney, Hello Kitty, etc)

I was told by a junior high school art teacher that I wasn't artistic so I avoided artistic creative pursuits until I was married and had little kids! To my surprise they thought I was super talented and they LOVED my little sketches and stories I created for them. It was then I decided I WAS creative and I could make art if I wanted to!! Snail mail is my medium of choice!
