I like skeletons, and insects, and anatomical hearts. I take pleasure in the absurd and odd and dark things in the world (although I do have a secret sparkly-unicorn-loving side to me as well...).
I love photography, reading, embroidery and cross-stitching. I live with a dude who is awesome, a cockatiel who speaks Spanish and a tiny dog who thinks he is large and ferocious.
I LOVE getting things in the mail, so I am really looking forward to participating in these swaps! I am interested in learning to make artist trading cards, and matchboxes. I have never tried them before, but they sound like a lot of fun!

(I really really like black!)
Sugar skulls, silver charms, coffee, tiny shrines, surrealism, dada, vintage neon signs, pictures shot with film, polaroids, vintage cameras, old books, feminist zines, skeletons, antique anatomy illustrations, birds, insects, old typewriters, typography, minimalism, antique photographs, mid-century modern design, kitchy retro weirdness, exotica records and tiki objects, handmade things...
Some stuff I do NOT dig:
religious items, cartoon characters, anime, gold, angels, fantasy art, "Twilight"
Really I am pretty easy to please! I am just excited to start swapping!!
I like all kinds of different music: industrial, and electronic and rap- the louder the better! I also dig on some jazz in more mellow moments.
I LOVE reading books! My favorites are the beat generation writers, like Jack Kerouac and William S. Burroughs. Other faves are Dostoyevski, Kafka, and Gabriel Garcia Marquez. I am always on the lookout to find new writers to get into!

Bonjour (Hello)
I like how you wrote your profile especially the party on you and your animals.. You are lucky to have a cockatiel and which it more speaks Spanish... I hesitate has to take one but I already have parakeets and turquoisines and I am afraid that they do not get.. I watched your photos flickr, what what you made is very attractive.
Happy New Year

We would like to welcome you to the Shutter Me Up Group . We look forward to seeing your creative photographic talents.
Hi Marianne! I enjoyed reading your profile; I think we have quite a bit in common :)
What sort of photography do you most enjoy? I’ve started experimenting with film cameras and am enjoying the ‘process’ of using them over digital (although I’m never without my digital camera!)
I have a ‘thing’ for skulls too, especially silver jewellery with them on.
Your cockatiel sounds so much fun! Where did he pick up the Spanish? My friend has one and it jibbers on and on all day talking nonsense...it’s so entertaining!
Anyway! I’ve not been on swapbot long, but perhaps I’ll bump into you again in the future! :)
Take care, Livvy x

(The "Read my Profile Post A Comment Swap") Gawsh girl I think I met my long lost sister. Diggin the black thing, its kinda my thing too. I'm not much on anatomical hearts though honestly, but no two great minds think exactly alike huh? I goofed when reading your second paragraph and almost fell outta my chair...I saw, "....a cockatiel who eats Spanish, my tiny dog..." A (non-dog-eating) spanish speaking one is just as cool tho. Its nice to meet you, hope I'm not being too strange for ya here ;-) I'm new here too. ~Tara~
ATC's are an awesome bundle of fun! I never attempted them before until I joined up with this site (not too long ago myself). Keep an eye out for the newbie ATC swaps... that's where I started. It is mingled with newbie's and veterans - I learned a ton of info from them all! Good luck in all your adventures on here! Hopefully you get lots and lots of black things! hehe =]
