Hi and thanks for reading! I had an account here years ago buttwas away for soI long I had to start new. It's nice being back!
First off, please no leather, fur, bones, shells, or feathers. I'm not vegan but these creep me out. Also, I cannot tolerate artificial fragrances of any kind so please no perfumes or colognes.
So here's a little about me. I'm a poet and an early childhood educator in the Milwaukee, WI, USA metropolitan area.
I'm active in contributing to local art events as a writer, actor, visual artist, storyteller, editor, youth mentor, on-air radio talent, and workshop facilitator.
I have one college-aged daughter who's also an artist. We live together with my adorable Japanese mom and our cat and hamsters.
I also spend as much time as possible with my boyfriend who is an audiobook narrator and into ham radio, especially telegraph keys. My art studio is in his house so I often get serenaded with staticky voices and beepy morse code.
I do a lot of different DIY but my main craft lately has been sewing face masks. I also crochet and do various paper crafts, other sewing, and mail art.
I collect, restore, and use typewriters, but I should catalog them all and then maybe pare down. It's a spacehogging obsession.
I love shopping at thrift stores and yard sales for materials and inspiration, hence all the typewriters. Ib feel like I have to save every one.
Some design themes I like are children's books and illustrations (especially retro), baby animals, kitsch, vintage recipes and other kitchen things, sciency stuff, foreign motifs, book nerd type things, weird Americana, fonts and typefaces, and and anything edgy and obscure.
I also like space themes - astronomy, zodiac, NASA, astrophysics. But not aliens so much.
I'm into pagan, Buddhist, and nature witch stuff, the supernatural, angels and saints but nothing churchy-Christian.
I am somewhat fluent in Spanish and know a little bit of Japanese. I like things with text in other languages just for the looks of it. I guess I'm kind of addicted to writing and words. Both creative writing and I love longhand also.
I'm alternative music from the 1980's on. Totally geeked out on TMBG.
I'm ok with swearing, sarcasm, and mature humor as long as it isn't hateful or hurtful.
If you need to know anything else, please ask. Thank you again!
