HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Artist * Art Teacher * Mother of 2 * Grandma of 1- son's dog * Lover of the Natural Outdoors
*I create everyday for self, others and for profit. I don't seperate art from my everyday existence because the two coinicide & coexit.
*A 'farm girl' at heart I would love to own a few alpaca, bees, a goat and a few chickens along with larger gardens (food and floral) but.. sigh... I live in a apt with little space so I make due and live as self sufficient as possible in my small country town that is kinda city. "Bloom where you are planted!"
*A mother of two grown children; a grandma of my son's 3 yr old bulldog/pug mix.
*I am proud of both my children (daughter 33 & son 22) for persuing their lives & careers with college, work, and FUN ...= daughter tends to entertaining in her home and tending to her huge flower gardens in her yard, and my son still plays hockey (since 5) and on a traveling team and entertains his dog with loads of play-dates.
*My cockatiel JERRY sits on my shoulder and keeps me company throughout the day in my studio. I try to keep all creative processes in there but things seems to creep into other areas of my home and it looks like a arty/craft bomb went off! YIKES!
*I spend a great deal of time in my studio and feel most comfortable in it. *Virginia Woolf didn't need to persuade me of.... 'A Room of 'My' Own'. BUT I do venture out of it to do my daily walks with the dog and observe the nature all around in the local parks/neighborhood.
*CONTACT: Please let me know if something ever seems to have gotten lost in postal-land out there so I can re-send. I create for excellence and strive to work hard to keep my 5 rating.
COLORS- I like all color(s) and/ or combos that are well put together.
*When I look around my home I see nuetrals and muted colors, distressed furniture, and a combination of calmess that is a necessity. *When I look in my clothes closet I see cream, peach, salmon, rust, green, brown and paynes gray. Of course my denim jeans are a given.
STYLES- Eclectic- I like the combination of Farmhouse, Romantic Prairie, Vintage, Shabby Chic, even a little industral.
MY ART STYLES-RENDITONS- Mixed Media, altered art, collage, ALTERED JOURNALS. *Representational and non in drawing and painting, Illustration,
*Grpahite, ink-b/w & color,Painting any medium-watercolor in pencil, crayon, paint.
*Books are my grand passion, my best friends, my lovers of life; they entice me, stir my imagination, & nourish my soul. They are cherished for their physical appearances, inspiration, their format-layout, print, and art/illustrations. I have a love affair with the written word incased in book form.
*I have noticed the media is creating MAGAZINES to mimic books with book price tags. Don't know how I feel about that, but try to appreciate them, the photography is stunning and they are thinner to store easier...so I'll bite the bullet and purchase them and add to my collection but of course they will never replace books to me.
A few of my romance favs are: any Emily Bronte or Jane Austen. 'A Gift from the Sea' by Anne Morrow Lindbergh. 'The Wolf and the Dove' by Kathleen Woodiwiss, 'I Capture the Castle' by Dodie Smith. *Any Art, Crochet, Organic, Vegetarian/vegan cooking, Green & up-cycling, Decorating, Gardening, and the llike.

"I don't like to say I have given my life to ArT.
I prefer to say ArT has given me my life."
David Salle
"Every child is an artist. The problem is how does one remain an artist once he grows up." Picasso
"I am unable to make any distinction between the feeling I get from life and the way I translate that feeling into painting." Matisse
"I eventually realized that I would have to paint. I was scared to, because it requires honesty, a loss of control to some degree, and no doubt criticism from within and without." Caroline Mageri
"Being an ArTisT is not a place that you reach; It is an everyday process of creating ArT and presenting that ArT to the world. Enjoy the process and congratulate yourself on having the wisdom and courage to spend your life doing what you love."
"That's one of the nice things about being an artist, you can sort of play God and make the world look the way you want it to." Tasha Tudor
"Every waking moment from life around me spark the gestalt moments that swirl and gather 'round to allow my artful representation to unfold upon the world." Roxanne
"For beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness." Audrey Hepburn
*I would like to mention the great care and time I put into creating the swaps I send out. I would hope to receive the same in return BUT...sometimes I don't.
*I do often receive very lovely & beatiful quality work and am grateful for it, (you know who you are...so you are not who I am addressing).
*I am addressing what 'NON' quality work is: sloppy and hurried, ATCs not measuring the 2.5 x 3.5 requirement, glue spots and smudges all over it, papers not meeting the edges, sloppy or jagged cutting, and just plain messy!
*Please don't misunderstand me- I am NOT addressing "skill level", it doesn't matter what the skill level is, but the sincere care taken in creating artwork.
*Being an art teacher my job is to not only teach a student technique & style with their creative expression BUT also to be neat and care taken in their art making, which makes it 'quality'. The careful process is half of what creates a finished quality artpiece/artwork.
*So my request is... TAKE PRIDE, CREATE & SEND QUALITY WORK!!
