I am a teacher in the great state of Washington! I have many interests in life. One of my top interests is travelling! I love to see our great big world and all the history and beauty it has to offer. My favorite destination thus far in life is New York City! I think I was born to live there! I love the whole big city feel and all the hustle and bustle gets my blood flowing!
I also love to go bowling every week with my mom! Our weekly league nights are always a great escape from the day to day life we leave at home! It doesn't hurt that we tend to lead the league most of the time :)
I stumbled across this website while looking at swaps for LTCs (Letterbox Trading Cards). Letterboxing is another one of my passions. Letterboxing a "treasure hunt" in rural and urban areas. You search out containers that hold a miniature piece of unique art. Hand carved rubber stamps are the prize! It gets me out in the wild on trails and takes me to places I never even knew existed in my own little piece of the world!
Children's books are my favorite books! I love to read aloud to my class, and they love it too! It is fun to make the characters in the book come to life for the kids!
For my own enjoyment, I like to read a lot of different things. I enjoy Nora Roberts, Dan Brown, and various other bestsellers. My current goad is to read a Stephen King book. I have accomplished about eighty pages of Needful Things so far.
I love to create LTCs (letterbox trading cards) using various mediums. LTCs are a form of an ATC, only the card contains the image of a unique, hand carved stamp.
Hand carving rubber stamps is another art form that I enjoy as part of letterboxing. It is fun to look back at some of my first stamps and see how my carving has progressed!
I also enjoy photography, maybe not a craft, but definitely an art! I like to take pictures of people, places, and scenery!
Aside from crafts involved in letterboxing, I also dapple in sewing. I mostly sew crafts, and have only tackled a small quilt, and simple baby blankets. I made some beautiful personalized Christmas stockings last year!
I also crochet, but not as much as I would like, since I tend to have a short attention span when it comes to crochet.
