I am an academic librarian whose specialization is teaching about finding and creating quality information. I also do research in my field, and I am the co-creator of the metaliteracy framework. I sew, quilt, and weave regularly. Occasionally, I spin and make bobbin lace. My newest obsession is creating and trading ATCs. I use watercolor and/or collage to create them. I am just starting to learn lettering so that my captions on paintings (I am learning this, too!) and wording on ATCs will look attractive.

I used to read so much. Lately, not so much. I am so busy (too many hobbies, not to mention my job!) that there isn't time. And the pandemic has had negative effects on my ability to concentrate, I fear. But I do like crime/mysteries (not cozies, though) and historical fiction. I think my all-time favorite book is Helene Hanff's 84, Charing Cross Road, a wonderful correspondence between her and a bookseller in a store on Charing Cross Road in London (a street that sadly has few booksellers left anymore). The book was made into a movie, but I've not seen it. Tucked into my copy of the book are two letters that I received from the author after writing to express my admiration of her book.
