Fabric Fabric Fabric! I love it. I love to see it. I love to touch it. I love to sew it. I like modern and bright and unique things. I am a long arm quilter, a very amateur pattern designer, and did I mention a lover of fabrics!
I have been a cross stitcher since I was 10, however I tend to have projects drag on for years because I get bored with them easily as it takes such a long time to finish any big project. I've got a white tiger project that is 20"x20" that I've been working on for 10 years off and on, mostly off!
I like to paint ceramics. I have a little Christmas village that I've been working on since I moved out when I was 18. Each year I add a couple houses to the collection.
Mostly, I love to quilt. I have been quilting for 6 years and recently started long arm quilting with the purchase of my own machine. I'm just getting started and learning lots by reading lots of books and videos and am really excited about what I'm making. I am just starting to take in customer quilts and am really excited about making other people's quilts come to life. I also have customers that are asking me to create customs quilts from start to finish for them. It's a fun blend to be able to make their vision a reality.
I tried scrap booking, which I like, but it's very time consuming so it may be a when my kids are bigger kind of project.
I have tried my hands at crochet, which is fun, but will never be a passion. And I've never tried knitting. I don't need any more projects!
I hold all the roles you can think of...mom, stepmom, wife, daughter, sister, aunt and grandmom! And they are all so fun. My kids range in age from 35-5 in my blended family.
I have training as an Interior Designer however upon graduating I was pregnant with my daughter so I have never had a position in the field, only doing contract work.
I love comedies! I think life can be hard enough I want my free time to be fun and light. And I Love Netflix. I have a tv in my sewing room so I watch when I piece quilts and do my design plans for long arming.
hello my name is Angie and I'm a binge Netflixer. I love to watch tv series hour after hour after hour after hour....
My favorite series have been Greys Anatomy, Gilmore Girls, Sex in the City, Grace and Frankie, Orange is the New Black and I'm sure there are so many more that I just can't think of now.
I am a little late getting started on my sampler quilt as I was waiting for the book for a long time. I am making all the blocks for a queen size quilt and I'm making them on point. I'm still looking for fabrics and I haven't decided if I'm going to have a couple of common fabrics in every block or just a random group of colours. I do love bright colours and love the mix of bright solids and small prints.
I am just starting my mini-quilt wall, so if there was something in the mail to add to that it would make me happy!
My favorite blocks in the book are really hard to choose, but I would say anything that is 4-way symmetrical is really appealing like Dolly(28) Prudence(87) Mrs.Anderson(66) Em(30). And I would be least in love with any of the bouquet looking blocks like Bride(17) or Blossom (15).
