My musical tastes range from classical to heavy metal and everything in between. A few favorite bands/artists would be Pink Floyd, Journey, Breaking Benjamin, Metallica, Mumford and Sons, Peter Gabriel, REM, Mark Knopfler, Gordon Lightfoot, Luke Bryant, Johnny Cash and Blue October. I like bluegrass, country, and folk music from around the world. Don't care for jazz, never could get into it.
I love to read. If left to my own devices, I would probably read 2 books a day. My favorites include Lord of the Rings, (read probably a dozen times), Sherlock Holmes, anything by Terry Pratchet, Anne of Green Gables series, the Jack Reacher series by Lee Child, all of Douglas Adams' books, books by Thomas Perry and most of Jack London's writings. Needless to say, I spend a lot of time in the library and used book stores.
I am a former restaurant manager with a degree in accounting. Right now, I am homeschooling my two youngest kids, while my oldest is in his second year of college. I have been married for 12 years. My husband travels for his job, and too often, his trips are long. Too keep the kids occupied and myself from going crazy, I started looking up crafty things to do with a preschooler and elementary age kid. One thing led to another, and I have gotten into making smash type journals, art journals, photography to a very limited degree, back into teaching myself to crochet, wood working, and painting. I love to travel, and prefer driving over flying. I like outdoorsy activities: hiking, camping, geocaching, and almost always prefer countryside and small towns to big cities. I like to garden and I am constantly digging holes in my yard to add another tree or shrub or flowering plant. I also like working with rocks. I would love to have several large (think 2 ton) rocks in my yard. I don't collect anything, don't have a decorating style or theme in my home (unless dust is considered a style). Can take or leave makeup and jewelry, but will wear both when the occasion calls for it. I prefer jeans and boots over dresses and heels.
